Former Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell ended his high school career with a state championship and college career with a Sugar Bowl victory.

He hopes to bring what he calls a “championship mindset” to whichever NFL team drafts him, according to his open cover letter posted on The Players’ Tribune. The letter discusses why he thinks an NFL team should take him, though it appears unnecessary because he’s widely projected to be taken within the first 20 picks of the draft on April 28.

“On draft night, when you’re looking for a playmaker, you’ll have to ask yourself: Do you want a guy who can read defenses to get open?” Treadwell wrote. “That’s me. Do you want a guy who can move the chains? That’s me. Do you want a guy who will battle for every jump ball and every touchdown? That’s me. I have played against the best in the college game, and thrived. Now I am ready to do it at the professional level. And if you draft me, I’ll spend every minute of every day making sure you don’t regret it.”

He didn't seem to be very thrilled when Interviewed. Hard to tell whether it was his Draft position or going to minnesota, but he wasn't to thrilled.

I'd like to think draft position/dollars. He was once thought of as a top-10 pick. But could also be personality. Rhodes has a similar personality where he always seems pretty serious on camera.

Perhaps he felt he was the top WR in this draft and seeing 3 guys go ahead of him rubbed him the wrong way.

Though I honestly thought the same thing watching him. Seeing all these players looking and speaking like they were simply happy to be where they were and then we have Treadwell looking disinterested and bitter about his placement rather than excited about his opportunity.

I saw him in the pre-draft interview and he was sort of the same way....I think its just his personality, not that he was upset about the draft or anything. Just my 2 cents.

@christomasson on Twitter has a bunch of quotes from Treadwell but I'm too mentally drained to post

Yup it's his personality. I listened to a 5 min interview on the radio with him and rich eisen yesterday. He was very monotone, didn't get too excited, and spoke about how he loves his family and his daughter so much. His number one concern besides football is creating a better life for his family.
A class act as far as I am concerned, he can block, catch, contest jump balls, has sticky hands.

I happy.

2nd round move up and take Ragland or maybe Jack.

I'm still not thrilled with this WR class overall and was really surprised to see so many come off in the first round, but Treadwell was a nice, slow pitch right down the middle of the plate for Spielman. He could have closed his eyes and hit that one. It was an easy, obvious choice for this team.

As far as Treadwell goes as a person and a player, I've seen the comparisons to Boldin and Hopkins, but the more I watched his college highlights the more I saw (gulp) Cris Carter. Now, that isn't to say I think Treadwell is going to be the next Carter, but the way he adjusts to the ball, makes subtle moves to separate and get open, and his ability to pluck it from the air really reminds me of how Carter played. Plus, his college production doesn't lie, and I'm a big believer in looking more at production than combine drills to evaluate the player and his potential as a pro.

I could easily be talking myself into the guy, but I think he has the potential to be a 10+ TD WR as a pro and I think he's going to keep a lot of drives alive with his ability to make plays when covered.

Love it. "You have a running back that will demand 8 in the box so you will see a lot of 1v1 coverages."

Megaquon says "sounds like a super bowl to me."

COME GET SOME! BOO YA!

He seemed happy to be a Viking and looking forward to the challenge of trying to win a Superbowl. The guy is a winner.
