is that really any of your business? i don't the entitlement that some fans feel they have to judge these guys on their lives off the field.

slapnut i don't know what world you live in. don't you know, that everything today is everyone's business? in fact, people post every single moment of their day on social media via: facebook, instagram, and twitter. so, your question is a really stupid one. the point that was made is that peterson is not a good person (and questionably not a good father either). all he is good at is running a stupid football across the field. if you want to insanely justify beating and fathering countless ILLEGITIMATE kids go ahead i'm all ears.

Enough. That kind of incendiary post is just going to lead to trouble. Please get back to football.

AP matters tremendously. Defenses must respect the run game every down he is on the field with at least 7 or 8 in the box. Think of the advantage that gives the passing game. Play-action would be deadly.

If he does come back, I would like to see them use McKinnon in a similar role as they used Harvin. He does not have as good of hands BUT he is sronger and faster than him and is too much of a weapon to lose setting on the bench "spelling AD".

Not justifying it just saying its none of our responsibilities to judge pro athletes on what they do in their private lives.

Thank you, Jim. mosscarter's post wasn't even directed at me and I was starting to get angry with the tone.

It would be cool to see them get creative and have AD, McKinnon, and Patterson in the backfield at the same time. That would be a lot of speed and athleticism

Not justifying it just saying its none of our responsibilities to judge pro athletes on what they do in their private lives.
Maybe we can make Hernandez a contract offer for the future! And yeah, not our responsibility to judge them, even when they lose an entire season. None of our business. Cost the team we cheer for wins? None of our business. Getting paid to sit at home? None of our business. Give me a break.

And now McKinnon is faster and stronger than Harvin?
McKinnon, AD, and Patterson on the field at the same time? Speed, athleticism, and half the brains of Matt Forte. You would have three guys who can barely block, two that struggle to run routes, two that have had trouble understanding the previous offenses. And Norv's is apparently even more complicated. Didn't we see last year how good being an "athlete" is when you can replace one with a practice squad player from a bottom of the league team and still get results. I'd hate to be Norv trying to get those three to work in the offense.

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed Demi?? Where is the McKinnon has no brains coming from?? As well as AP (from an on the field standpoint)?? Who else "struggles" to run routes other than CP?? Who had trouble understanding the offense other than CP?? Like .....are you talking out of your rear or is it just me?? As you know, I'm no fan of McKinnon being the lead guy next year but yes, it is a proven fact that he is faster and stronger than Harvin so I don't know why you're so confused with that.

I'm not condoning the original post because I'm not sure I see a way of all 3 of them being on the field at the same time but for you to just jump down his throat and question everyone's intelligence is a little overboard and false if you ask me. It's just you trying to stir the pot.

We watched Harvin pay for years, we saw McKinnon last year, you're really going to say on the field McKinnon is faster and stronger? All those broken tackles from Harvin? I don't remember all that many remarkable plays from McKinnon last year. And they ran the same 40 time at the combine.

AD and CP have both had issues with offenses, or at least it's been reported. They both have issues as receivers to different degrees. We've heard for YEARS about getting Player A and Player B on the field at the same time. But it never happens. Is it because our OCs are all idiots? I'm not a huge fan of Bevell, but he does seem to have a grasp on calling an NFL offense. And instead of getting McKinnon and Patterson on the field at the same time, Norv, a guy with decades of experience, benched Patterson for Johnson, and gave a glorified full back plenty of snaps over McKinnon.

I agree McKinnon is a solid guy to spell AD, or another back. And brings some things to the table. But the offseason fever is getting out of hand! Between the idea of bringing TJoke back, and getting Patterson on the field *more* after a season in which he was demoted? Along with downplaying Harvin's abilities on the field? This is MADNESS!

I have no clue where you get your facts from but McKinnon ran a 4.35 at the combine and Harvin ran a 4.41. Last time I checked, a 4.35 is faster. Also, Harvin put up 19 reps on the bench compared to McKinnons 32. Last time I checked, 32 was better than 19. McKinnon only played 11 games and only 5-6 of those games he saw legitimate touches. Go back and watch some of his plays vs. Buffalo and Atlanta. He had plenty of broken tackles. On one run alone vs. Atlanta he broke about 5.

AP has issues with offenses?? Uhhhh ok?? Once again, I have no clue where you get your information from. Like I said, I never said a thing about getting these guys on the field together but the "facts" you try to bring up are either false or make zero sense.

Over McKinnon's final 6 games he was averaging about 14-15 carries a game and the Chicago game brings that number down from about 17 because our team as a whole barely ran that game. Over those same games Matt Asiata was averaging 4 carries per game. So how is a "glorified full back" getting plenty of snaps over McKinnon?? McKinnon was injured at the end of the year so that's why Asiata's carries went back up.

I agree McKinnon is a solid guy to spell AD, or another back. And brings some things to the table. But the offseason fever is getting out of hand! The only reason "Tjoke" was brought up was simply because he publicly said he wouldn't mind backing up Teddy. The only reason I would want Patterson on the field more is as a gadget player and maybe some WR at times because he finally has the same offense 2 years in a row. I personally think he would be great out of the slot.

I don't think anyone is really "down playing Harvin's abilities on the field". We all knew what he was capable of but with the ball in hands....CP is just as dangerous or maybe even more dangerous than Harvin is. They are the same type of player except Patterson is just built a lot better. Harvin was no special route runner or "WR". He was an athlete with big play abilities similar to CP. However, CP at least has potential as an outside WR....something that Harvin never had.

As for your "facts" that you bring up.....they just don't add up or for the most part, have no backing to them so I'm not sure where you're going with this.

My unconfirmed source has mentioned that Ryan Longwell, Steve Hutchinson, and Jared Allen have flown to Peterson's house in Texas to speak with him. More at 10 o'clock.
