Lol honestly, now that Ponder is benched, I can actually look back on how the Ponder experiment was conducted. The coaches did not put him in the best position to improve. He was not ready to start, otherwise McBadd would have never been signed. The only problem is that McBadd was washed up and not a good QB for Ponder to learn from. So Ponder got the start anyway, even though he wasn't ready. Ever since then we've just been riding the Ponder without getting him the proper training.
At times Ponder has shown flashes of potential. The SF game, and those last 4 games of the season he shown he can actually put the team on his back when he needs to. We can't ride off potential alone. He needs to go to QB school or something and work on his mechanics. I doubt he would get it here though. Like I said earlier, this team hasn't had many franchise QB outside of Tarkenton and CulPepper.(maybe) That alone should tell you that this team is not very good at grooming QBs. We need already developed QBs like Russell Wilson, RGIII and Andrew Luck to succeed here.
I get what you're saying. I just laugh when I see you defending Ponder. You know why. Good luck with that. You'll need it. Luckily I got to retire from that. There are plenty of others on here who do quite well at it. Ah. Relaxation.

Comparing a guy we spent a first round draft pick on to a guy that has played more snaps at WR than QB .
Not to be pedantic, but I'm not sure that is true. Webb has played a couple of games at QB (where he took almost every snap) as compared to his WR snaps which have been "spotty" at best... (I get the point you were making, though)
I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!
I made that comment because most avid Webb fans still think he has a future as a QB. Perhaps I should have said, "Ponder had better games than Joe Webb when he (Webb) was a QB."

Well let's see....his record was 1-3 over those 4 games, and over the last 3 he was 0-3, threw 2 TDs and 5 INTs.
How many of those games do you call good?
Oh wait, you'e joking right? Haha, good one.
At least with Ponder the offense generated *points*. 24, 30, 27. Cassel beat up on an anemic Steelers but then laid an egg against Carolina with 10 points. Can anyone really say Cassel or Freeman are better than Ponder? There are so many holes on this team that to blame Ponder is really misplaced. Get rid of Spielman, then Frasier but first... get rid of MUSGRAVE.
