I live outside of the Minnesota media market (in Oregon) and am noticing that based on this year's game times and my travel/work schedule that I am not going to be able to watch a number of games. I'm currently looking in to the NFL Game Pass and am wondering what other's experiences have been. $100 is a little steep but I will be able to watch every game at least and honestly it ends up being cheaper than watching at a bar and paying for food/drinks although trying to have a media blackout until I get to watch the game may be a bit tough. Those of you who have ordered it in the past would you recommend this as a good option? Any drawbacks? Apparently they used to have an option to just purchase one team's games but they have done away with that?

Yes, they did away with that option. They also used to offer a subscription to the radio broadcasts separately from the video repeats.
I've been a Game Pass subscriber since they created that package and I've found it worth the money. I listen to the games live when I can't watch them and then watch them the next day. It's also a great way to see some other games of interest.
One of the best aspects of Game Pass is access to the "coach's film", which is usually available by mid-week following the game.
If you can afford the $100 and you think you'll make regular use of the services, it's worth it.

Great, thanks! Yeah, it seems like it will probably be a good option for my situation. With all the added features, it really seems like it'll be worth it

As you said, it's cheaper than going out to a bar to watch the games every week (at least if you buy food and drinks).
Trying to have a media blackout until you can watch is difficult. I can't do it. I just listen live (it's fun). If you have NFLRedZone, you can always go to that when you hear a team in the Vikes game get near scoring position. They will often (but unfortunately, not always) go to the game at that point. That's what I tend to do.
Another nice aspect of Game Pass is that you can watch the game in real time or watch an abbreviated version that shows all of the plays but cuts out the huddling and down time between them. That's not ideal but it's a way to take in the game if you don't have much free time.

This sounds like it might work out for me, too. With a busy life, the radio live feed + replay by mid week sounds like a good combo for the price.
Quick question. I got the game pass. In, the Vikings vs Bengals, most of the broadcast was the Bengals. Is that the normal case, or was it just because it was a home game for them, or I'm doing something wrong? It was annoying to listen to their announcers. IMHO, they were really bad on the play by play, so it wasn't just the hometown bias, which I could have understood.
There was about 3 minutes or so in the first quarter that was the Vikings broadcast. Does it change when we get out of the pre season games?

Thanks!
On the page where you select which game you want to watch or hear, you should see an option to select the home or away broadcast (see below).
I actually was wondering about that too. I assumed the listen feature was just for the radio broadcast, but you can switch the video broadcast as well?
Ha, I thought they were pretty bad too. I kind of wrote it off as my Vikings bias but they definitely seemed to be a poor announcing team and not in just a homerish kind of way (Some homers can be fun to listen to even if you're not a fan of the team. Listening to Mike and Mike for the Trailblazers here in Portland is always entertaining and they are a total homer team). The Bengals team just didn't seem to a call a good game.

During the preseason, the video broadcast seems to be available (that's how I watched Friday's game). That might be new because i don't remember that option being available lat year. Maybe I just missed it.
During the regular season, only the "listen" option is available on game days. The video isn't made available until some time after the Sunday night game. Exactly when seems to vary but I've found it's always available by Monday morning.

Ah ok, sounds good. Sounds like I'll have a little playing around to do with it. So far it seems to be a nice option for watching games!
