Sick of the moral victories

Post by PurpleMustReign »

Moral Victories do not win Super Bowls.

This is a loss. A road loss against a good to great team that was close. The Vikings need to learn how to win these games or they will never win a Super Bowl (which is looking less likely anytime soon).

I am not satisfied. I am not happy. It is another LOSS that was oh-so-close.

Offensive line was overmatched from the start. They had some decent moments but the amount of times they left Clemmings one-on-one they got what should have been expected.

Were there any screen passes or anything to combat what Wade was doing?

On the other hand, heck of a game by Diggs. I guess.

Do you know what else doesn't win Super Bowls?

Games in week 4.

While I really do understand your point of view, I think it is very clear that the arrow for your franchise is pointed up, how far they go remains to be seen.

Losses sure don't get you closer though.

You guys can be upset but this is only year 2 of Zimmer and Turner. This game was also the best I've seen them compete on the road against a championship caliber team since 2009.

Improve the line and fix Walsh (or get rid of him) and we'll be in the mix.

Young, injured O-Line got schooled. Rhodes either commits a lot of penalties or has the reputation. He is a flag magnet.
Walsh missing a 30 odd yarder field goal in a 3 point loss, how typical!

We had time outs and a chance and choked. That is how I see it.

But this is a hell of a lot better than San Fran, so make of that what you will.

The run run run punt series might have been the most brutal thing in the game, honestly.
Peterson has got to get out of the bad habit of short and negative yard plays, especially on first downs.

Here is something to think about: Next 3 games are Chiefs at home and then Lions and Bears on the road.
Is this team going to make it happen and show it is legit and be 5-2 and 3-0 in divisional games and start winning on the road or is it gonna muddle and be a sham and give us some "moral victories?"

You seem to have decent football knowledge, and you are a fan of the hated Packers, so I like that you think this. But just once, I would like to have a team like GB fields year after year. You don't know how lucky you are to have two HOF QBs play for you in the last 25 years. I would give up my left arm to have had Favre in his prime or Rodgers in his prime play for the Vikings.

i agree with tsonn. this team showed guts today people wake up. i had them getting beat by 14 at the least and they hung in there. our oline either has to improve, or we will be finished.

A bad OL like this is gonna get Teddy killed, perhaps a knee blown out like Culpepper. Its utter foolishness that they try to trot out the same failed OL that we have had the last few years. It Must be improved.

The OL was my biggest concern in the off season and still is.. Without the injuries would our OL have been what we needed ?

nobody knows.. IMO our biggest mistake was keeping extra guys at CB or WR when we have three guys maybe four that can all
run back KR and PR....

I have mentioned in other threads I want the OL revamped and have for two years now...

Kalil has played a lot better...

The only players who were on the field today who saw significant snaps last year were Kalil and Berger, and the latter was at a different position. It's hardly the same line.

I'm more sick of bonehead plays to lose games like this team has done in the past. Fighting toe to toe and coming up short, I can live with.

If this was 2016 and the team was still not winning games like this, I'd be more worried. My guess is they'll have a couple of big wins this year, hopefully GB will be one of them.

As all the players said in the postgame locker room interviews, if you play like that, you'll win a lot of road games in the NFL.
