Whatever happened to Jimmy Clausen, the Panthers 2nd round draft pick in 2010?
He had a terrible rookie season on a laughably bad Panthers team. And hasn't thrown a single regular season pass since. He spent last year on the Panther's IR list, now he's a free agent.
This isn't a "let's get" suggestion. More of a "Wow, did that guy get screwed" thread. I couldn't imagine a worse way to come into the league.

Re: Jimmy Clausen
I remember reading something about him having a really bad attitude. Not the type of guy who can inspire others to follow his leadership.
Re: Jimmy Clausen
That seemed to be one of the knocks on him out of college, from what I read, and one of the reasons he fell from being a projected 1st round pick to the middle of the 2nd. Not 'bad', but cocky. I can easily see how an immature player might go off in a place like Carolina on a 2-14 team.HornedMessiah wrote:I remember reading something about him having a really bad attitude. Re: Jimmy Clausen
All you need to know is the Panthers drafted Cam the very next year.
He also falls into my "I don't like his face" category for QB's. He has that scrunchy face that #### kids did back in elementary school.
As far as I know he's not on a team anymore.

Re: Jimmy Clausen
I don't know about the Cam Newton thing. You go 2-14, get the top pick in the draft, and you're sitting with the opportunity to take one of the best looking college QB prospects in years. That would be hard to pass up.
But it may answer my original question and explain why Clausen hasn't had an opportunity to throw another pass in the last three years.
He was with the Panthers last year, but on IR. He's a free agent now, not exactly retired at 26.

Re: Jimmy Clausen
According to ESPN Chicago, Jimmy Clausen "caught the staff's attention" during the Bears' three-day minicamp, while (No. 2 quarterback Jordan) Palmer appeared to struggle."
Coach Marc Trestman confirmed afterwards that Clausen will go with the team to training camp, while Jerrod Johnson was left behind. Chicago will enter camp with four rostered quarterbacks: Clausen, Jay Cutler, David Fales, and Palmer. If Clausen is truly humbled, he could be a sleeper to win the top backup job.

Maybe he's making a comeback.
Erm...something like that anyway.
