Am I the only one who got sick of the predictability of the play calling

1s down- attempt pass- usually incomplete
2nd down - Peterson Run
3rd down - pass
4th down punt.

Can't we mix it up a bit more
I believe..

It bugged me too. The playcalling has to improve if they want to start winning.

To me it even seemed like we ran pass run pass most of the game, but really that wasn't the pattern. It was for 5 out of 6 straight series at the end of the 3rd, beginning of the 4th quarters, but this was the game long pattern on 1st and 2nd down.

# 1st-2nd
4 run-run
8 run-pass
7 pass-run
10 pass-pass (8 came during 2 min drills)

So we pretty much started the game with a run-pass pattern, then finished with a pass-run.

I'm officially done with passing behind the line of scrimmage. We needed a touchdown with 50 seconds to go and we're passing to tight ends behind the line of scrimmage. TELL ME WHAT THE RATIONALE OF THIS IS. Tell me what the reasoning behind a 2 yard pass on 3rd and 10 is because it seems like this team is good for 10 of those a game and they never work. Somebody tell Frazier and Musgrave that 2 doesn't equal 10. They haven't grasped preschool math.

Pass on 1st, pass on 2nd, and if it's 3rd and long, pass on 3rd. Then fans will complain that we have an unused MVP in the backfield.

It's not the play calling itself, but the design of the plays that bug me. We need more 4 WR and shotgun formations.
ive felt the same way for a long time.

spreading the defense out and giving AD more room to run just seems like a good idea. the closest we have been to this is the 09 season with favre where we relied on throwing a little too much, although ad had a great season.

the obvious answer to why we dont do this is personnel. we havent had the qb since favres first year, we dont have the wrs to get open 1v1 and the play calling or coaching to run an atypical offense and utuilize the best runner in the league today.

I said this during the game: Many of those look like designed plays, but they're just Ponder checking down. He bails out of his progression so quickly that you'd swear it was the play call.

i just once want to watch a vikings offense that is creative and consistent instead of one that runs the same 5 plays the same way every time. its frustrating
