http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/pete- ... dible-2013That handshake is Adrian Peterson in a nutshell: He does so many things that set him apart from others.
Whether it's his act of kindness to kids at a school for special-need students, where he surprised them with an unplanned visit, or his willingness to stand in a sporting-goods store and sign jerseys as he stands behind a cash register with a wide grin on his face, Peterson is not your ordinary NFL player.
He is Minnesota's favorite son, its new Kirby Puckett, a player Vikings fans love and embrace, and he seems to give it right back to them.
But what really sets Peterson apart from others is his super-human ability on the football field. He's a runner like no other in the league right now. This is the man who bounced back from a devastating knee injury and nearly broke the single-season rushing record less than a year removed from surgery. Oh and he won NFL MVP honors in the process.

Rewinding the tape on Adrian Peterson's incredible 2013
Worth the read/watch

Great article and video. Thanks for the link, DP.
One part of it that's kind of spooky is when AD reflects on how he knew the injury was serious the moment it happened. The way he describes the injury and how he was feeling is chilling, what with the two "pops" and the pain he had.

Yeah. I hate the videos of the injury. Makes me a little ill. But, I suppose knowing how he came back from it--it makes it a tiny bit easier.losperros wrote:Great article and video. Thanks for the link, DP.

That was certainly nice to read. It completely put to rest any questions I had about his team mentality versus his personal goals. He is a rare bird indeed. So, glad he is a Viking.. If I was still a little kid, I would be out on the lawn pretending to be him all the time. I might do it later today, regardless.
Don't know why national media types call him AP rather than AD.....the more I listen to him the more I get the mentality, all day every day 110%.
I'm like him when it comes to watching the play he got injured on. I can't watch it. I can't watch any guy get his knee blown up any more...it's just awful. But I'm glad that there are new precedents for being able to get back on the field after those types of injuries.
SOOO glad this kid is a Viking.
Thanks for posting the article DP.

Well, I'll have you know that my 76' Chuck Foreman and my 80' Ahmad Rashad were some of my best work. Rumor had that Foreman, in 78', was interested in some of my 76 footage. He was looking for ways to help him come back from his knee injury. We talked about getting him the footage but before anything happened all the films were ruined in a serious water balloon incident involving myself and several neighborhood kids. So, the evidence is gone...but believe me it was golden. My best stuff was his spin move and my determined face during slo-motion plays.MelanieMFunk wrote: 100% agree.

That was a really great highlight of just how good AD's attitude is both on and off the field. For most people, if they were accused of "juicing" they would take that very negatively but he just brushed it off and turned it into something positive.

@MoveTheSticks: MIN had more runs of 20+ yards (33) than DAL, JAX, IND, NYJ, DET and SD combined (30)
