Not sure if this has been discussed...

Am I the only one nervous about AD being in the finals?

Drew Brees had it a few years ago and did fine as well.

So by that same token, if Peterson rushes for 1800-2000 yards next year, the Vikes finish with a relatively similar record, but he loses 3-4 more fumbles, the curse will have had its effect?

Ah the criteria for failure placed on the box of a video game, quite frankly it's laughable, far too much importance is placed on this annual occurence.

I'm not nervous. I'm happy he's getting recognized and appreciated on the level that he is. I haven't played Madden in years, but I imagine AP is a beast on it. :D

If anyone can overcome this "supposed curse" it would be AP, right?

If he makes the cover and something bad happens--I think they just need to put all retired players on the cover from then on. If they refuse, let's vote/push for all Packers players like mad people!

Well, Megatron made the cover last year and almost caught for 2,000 yards...but the Lions stunk it up so...

So maybe he already broke this "curse"? AP should be good to go then!

People have short memories, Every three years someone breaks the "Madden Curse" Larry Fitz broke it, Megatron, Brees, Eddie George, Vince Young even had a great season after it. AP should have been on the cover his rookie year, I am glad he finally gets this piece of pointless recognition lol. Its been three years since I bought a football game so it might finally be worth picking a new one up, especially if I move to a next generation console.

A 33% chance of not having a horrific season isn't too stellar

Yeah but since fitz, it hasn't mainfested, I mean the Browns RB shouldn't have been on the cover, everyone knew he was going to replicate that year.

I would wonder what the "natural" injury rate/horrific career defining play is for players is in the NFL. I would bet that it has to be at least 25% of players get seriously injured or make an epic costly mistake in a given season, making the madden curse more like a curse of people actually paying attention to you for a season and seeing you experience the normal up and downs of a NFL career.

Well Peyton Hillis got "elected" to the cover so I don't really count him, since he only had one super productive year to his name with the browns. I also don't count Barry sanders since his "curse" was a personal decision to retire *gasp* that takes it down to 8 right there.

Barry admitted recently that he was basically trying to pull a favre but the Lions kept him from doing it. He was going to retire then join another team because he was sick of the Lions losing. Not exactly curse material.

As a fantasy football player...the curse for Megatron was in full force. This guy had his nice chunk of yards but boy going from 16-17 TDs to 5 is a little slouch. This guy was shut out practically in 4-5 games this past year too.
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.
