McLeod Bethel-Thompson
Does anyone know much about MBT? I cant find alot on him even during his college years. Whats he doing here?
Re: McLeod Bethel-Thompson
Did you watch the lolpreseason?
He has a cannon. Paul Allen had a lot of fun saying his name during the game. Because he is #4 people were comparing him to Favre. He was making nice throws. But of course it was against #### CBs and #### D-Line

Yeah I saw pre season. I mean his college days. He has the build and supposed arm of a QB. And Webb is not the answer here. And its getting to the point that neither is Ponder.
Re: McLeod Bethel-Thompson
He has floated around for the last year. Undrafted free agent with San Fran then was cut, played in some other league I think before landing on the Dolphins practice squad. According to Pelissero he had a better camp than Sage, his arm being his biggest strength. I'm not sure about college days but he's very raw and a long-shot. There were rumors that a lot of people were going to jump on him and he wouldn't make it to the Vikings PS, probably why he was retained and Sage was cut.

Yep thats about what ive heard/seen. The funny thing is, there is very little on him from his college days, i found more info on his HS days where he was some sort of god. I like his size and arm. Reminds of the pick I wish we had made, Mallet.S197 wrote:He has floated around for the last year. MBT played at Sacramento State for a while and did very well. He played for another school before that and then transferred to Sac State

The current starter led this team to a 5-3 record, despite his recent skid. Interesting that you say you never know who is better. How do YOU know they are better? If you don't know, then how do you know they are better than Ponder?Boon wrote:This is what I don't get, you have a rebuilding team. You have 3 quarterbacks, Ponder being the starter, Webb and MBT the backups. Now the season is done lets just say. You don't give the other two a chance to see what they have in a REAL GAME situation. After a year or two they say "ah well ponder isn't working out lets draft another QB".
The hell?
This is usually how it works. Why don't they start working the other two into games? For all anyone knows MBT could be a winner. Teams have drafted busts in the first round before, I mean seriously. Just because he was picked at 12 doesn't give him a free pass. He looks absolutely terrible at this point. I would not fault them for even doing a round robin starter routine, at this point they have nothing to lose. They're going to end up losing Harvin because of this QB, at least show you have a bonafide interest in trying to get the position settled. Practice or not, you NEVER know what someone can do until you play them. MBT has the physical tools. Webb balances out his yards running. And both are a BETTER option than the current starter, there is no way around this

It's the same old story we've seen played out many times before: when a team's starting QB is struggling, the backups always become very, very popular.mansquatch wrote:The current starter led this team to a 5-3 record, despite his recent skid. I agree. Plus we still have a winning record. But. Ponder is going downhill faster then any Viking player (not just QB) that I can remember. And I have been a fan for around 25 years. Some players have their ups and downs. Some go downhill. But Ponder has 100% lost his confidance. And can that be fixed? I would think, if it could be, the shock of benching him for Webb or MBT might break him out of it. I really do wish i could see some tape or see some records of MBT in college. Cause Webb isnt the future QB of this team.Mothman wrote: It's the same old story we've seen played out many times before: when a team's starting QB is struggling, the backups always become very, very popular.
