not on the season, but in the last 7 games, peterson has outgained ponder FOUR times.yezzir wrote:Does AD have more yards rushing than Ponder does passing?
Ponder's yardage plummeted when Percy Harvin went down. Percy was his go-to on almost every passing play.tmscr wrote: not on the season, but in the last 7 games, peterson has outgained ponder FOUR times.
It looked like the Bears keyed on him. I'll have to look again during the week but that was my impression. They were talking about him a lot on Chicago radio this week so it didn't surprise me. He had a good game against the Bears a few weeks ago and I think they were determined not to let him repeat that performance.PurpleMustReign wrote: I agree. Jenkins had a nice game today, but AD is getting killed out there.
what happened to Rudolph BTW?
It was very boring. The only reason to watch it is to see AD.tmscr wrote:is it just me or was that an incredibly boring game? don't get me wrong, thrilled with the vikings win, but it seemed like the offense was on cruise control after they got their 14 points. vikings were fortunate to win today. the defense played very well, but chicago did not have their best game. this win is nice and the vikings are still alive for the playoffs, but i'm not losing perspective. it's beating a dead horse, but the vikings need to make a switch at QB. although, i will say ponder was under a lot of pressure today, but i had visions of t-jack.
If you go by average, then yes he does. Here are their season averages including this game.yezzir wrote:Does AD have more yards rushing than Ponder does passing?
My dad and I thought Rick Fenney was a great back. It was like watching Bill Brown play again.soflavike wrote:You give it to the best damn running back in the league, then... not to the second coming of Rick Fenney

Thanks for the memory.
The thing that worries me most is the way he lowers his head and basically uses it as a battering ram. They checked his neck out today and have done so in the past and I think it's because of this style of run. But then again who am I to question greatness.tmscr wrote:i mentioned this in another thread, but i felt sorry for adrian today. the guy is probably not human, as we all know. but how many more beatings can this guy take, long term? you don't have to be hit hard to be beaten up and 8 gigantic men falling on you all game because our QB doesn't make plays cannot be a positive thing.
it's tough because peterson continues to defy logic and prove everyone wrong, but i worry about the long-term affects of him BEING the offense. aside from his personal long-term health after he retires, we will obviously need him for his remaining years in football. this isn't a video game where you can keep feeding it to one guy and he's ready for the next game. i'm just not sure he can continue to stay healthy this way. i'd like to see them work in toby a little more.S197 wrote: The thing that worries me most is the way he lowers his head and basically uses it as a battering ram. AD had a career high in carries today but they haven't been feeding him the ball excessively this season. He's averaging just under 20 carries per game.tmscr wrote:it's tough because peterson continues to defy logic and prove everyone wrong, but i worry about the long-term affects of him BEING the offense. aside from his personal long-term health after he retires, we will obviously need him for his remaining years in football. this isn't a video game where you can keep feeding it to one guy and he's ready for the next game. i'm just not sure he can continue to stay healthy this way. i'd like to see them work in toby a little more.
I'd like to see them run Toby a bit more if only to not key the entire defense; "Hey, Gerhart is on the field, pass play!"Mothman wrote: AD had a career high in carries today but they haven't been feeding him the ball excessively this season. He's averaging just under 20 carries per game.
Part of that has to do with the Vikings playing from behind in the 4th quarter. I'd be curious to see how many carries he has received in the last period over the season.Mothman wrote: AD had a career high in carries today but they haven't been feeding him the ball excessively this season.
