So what, he's not good enough to be a starting QB in this league, he proves that week after week by doing the best he could.

*Can.
Ponder does not lose these games alone. I don't know why that when the entire team is struggling, people just expect Ponder to carry the load. Walsh should've hit the extra point. On that 4th and 5 our coaches could have atleast attempted another field goal. Not to mention that our defense is very feeble. Don't get me starting on the offensive play calling. The O-Line cant block.
But hey lets put this on Ponder. Its all his fault. Clearly if we had a Tom Brady the entire Vikings team will be that much better. Like 16-0 type good.

I really thought they had this one though. They don't know how to finish. The 2013 Vikings are losers and don't know how to cope with any form of success, they continually find a way to lose. That's what losers do.

C'mon, look at his numbers, he's just not that good. Sure we have other problems, but Ponder is not the guy, 1-7 sucks, Ponder has to take his share of the blame.

I can't believe there are still fans who think Ponder should be our QB

That INT play ponder stared the intended target down the entire play .. Never
looking at another option .. After three years you have not learned; to not stare down
a receiver for the whole, Ponder is not going to learn

Probably make a good back up for somebody, but yeah, he's had his chance, we should get a good draft pick.

could was correct, as in past tense, as in next year Ponder will be past tense

honestly who cares at this point. They clearly had no playoff or superbowl chances going into the game. all i'm waiting for is the season to end although i am NY jets fan not too far behind the vikings (i live in NY)

All I can say is this game was classic Ponder. Classic. This is Ponder at his finest, making some decent throws, and then blowing it spectacularly. He's not the only reason the Vikings lost today, but he's emblematic of what ails this team. When he's good he's acceptable, but when he's bad he's horrific. The dips are so much deeper and more damaging than the bumps are rewarding. And the entire friggin' team has taken on that characteristic this year. It's like Ponderitis has infected the team, it's coaches, and it's GM like a communicable disease.
It's really hard for me to believe we are only halfway through this season. I could swear this has already been the longest football season I've ever had the displeasure of watching. It seems like the draft should be just around the corner, but we have another 8 games of this crap to get through before we then find out the Vikings will not have a shot at the best QB in the upcoming draft.

He's not the only reason the Vikings lost today
We have an average, to above average QB, we win this game.
Cassel wins this game.
So yeah, I think it's easy to say he's the "only" reason.
Otherwise no one is ever the "only" reason.
He's as close as you can get....

problem with this is that the sack fumble td in the endzone wasnt his fault and the TD to Rudolph was as much him as the TE... Tunnel vision doesn't make carpet statements any less true.
Don't get me wrong, its not an endrosement of Ponder, just silly to blame it on someone who the evidence doesn't support as being the only problem.

Problem with this is Nick Foles, who has started 3 games, has over double his td passes and almost the same yardage. Ponder is technically the last rated out of 32 nfl starters in almost every statistic. I mean c'mon man, Mike Glennon has more td passes and yardage. He has the arm strength of a teenage girl, and the fortitude of one too the way he runs away from phantom pressure. This is a no-brainer, an average QB would change every facet of our offense, including dropping at least one or two people out of the box. THIS IS NOT WITH ELITE PLAY, THIS WOULD BE THE RESULT OF EVEN ABOVE AVERAGE TO AVERAGE QUARTERBACKING.
Still doesn't mean that he is the sole reason we lost today
I am not a fan of Ponder. I just understand that on most plays he isn't the only one on the field. This whole roster needs a work over. Replacing Ponder with any other QB we had on the roster would have yielded the same results. Hell, compared to most of his games he played well. People keep looking at his fail mary but they forget that he didn't play badly for the first half. We need a better QB. We also need a better Oline, Dline, Secondary, LB core, Offensive coordinator, Defensive coordinator. At this point, blaming it all on Ponder is Just ignoring the problems...
...C'mon Man.

I wouldn't call this a bad Dallas team, sure they dropped a couple they shoulda won, but they are division leaders. I took a nap and woke up at the start of the 2nd half, and was shocked it was't 27-10.
