Ints - Paul Krause - 53
Blocked Kicks - Matt Blair - 20
Fumble Recoveries - Jim Marshall - 29
I believe all three of these guys own the respective NFL records as well. Golden Age of Vikings football, indeed. Hope the current iteration of the Vikings improves on the past!! :smilevike:

What I think is interesting is when the Vikings had arguably their best statistical play from QB (2004) they went 8-8.

Detroit had a ton of passing yards last year but they couldn't score and turnovers and penalties killed them..

Personally i think Detroit is more talented than the bears are

Yes, but we all know QB performance is what determines wins and losses, right?

Mewelde Moore should have been the starter imo. Bennet was good but only cuz he waas fast.

Longest Field Goal - 56 Yards (2012) (Tied with Paul Edinger)
Most Field Goals of 50 yards or more in a season - 10 (2012)
Most Field Goals of 50 yards or more without missing in a season - 10 (2012)
Straight games making a 50+ yard field goal - 3 (2012)
Most points by a rookie in a single season - 141 (2012)

Some, as we know, are also NFL records.
Impressive! Let's hope this continues. I wonder what the longest consecutive streak of 50 yarders made regardless of season is. Walsh in 10 and counting... maybe he already has it.

Reignman wrote:Yeah that was definitely a different era as far as passing goes. Do these sound like Hall of Fame numbers for a QB ... 62-63 record, 50.1 completion %, 27663 yards, 173 TD's, 220 INT, and a 65.5 QB rating? Those numbers belong to Hall of Famer Joe Namath. He once had a game where he went 2 of 18 for 33yds and 3 INT, and another game where he went 4 of 15 for 20yds and 4 INT. To bad for Ponder, he would be putting up HoF numbers if this were the 60's haha.
You're laughing at Joe Namath?

Namath also threw for 4,007 yards in 1967, an absolutely astounding total for that era. He averaged 15.5 yards per completion that year, 16.8 the next year, and 17.4 in 1972. By comparison, Drew Brees threw for 5,476 yards in 2011, but only averaged 11.7 yards per completion.

Far more importantly, Namath guaranteed a win against 17-point favorite Baltimore in Super Bowl III, then went out and beat them. He almost single-handedly put the AFL on the map and paved the way for football as we know it today.

Before you diss a man like Joe Namath, you ought to check your history. Say what you want about stats ... Joe Namath is the very essence of a Hall of Famer.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.
