Funny you should say that. I almost voted that way, just because I noticed the connection that the moment the relationship went public, Ponder's game went into the toilet. Maybe he got all "I'm so cool", and the lack of concentration has cost him.
I doubt it. I think he made some mistakes, faced some adversity and wilted. He's lost confidence in the pass protection in front of him and in himself and it shows. He doesn't want to make mistakes and he's trying so hard to avoid them that he's not making plays either. Maybe his girlfriend is impacting his game preparation but I seriously doubt that's the main problem, if it's even happening at all.

Maybe she's not putting out?
Or maybe she's putting out too much???

Ponder's just not a very good quarterback. Called this last year. You're going to need an insanely complete and dominant team to go anywhere with this guy (ala the 49'ers).

"He is our guy and we have to get him back playing the way he was a couple of weeks ago."
Frazier on Ponder? Nope Coughlin on Manning. Interesting that other QB slump as well.

In principle I agree with your point, but Manning's "off-game" still netted nearly twice the yardage Ponder put up, and that was Manning's worst game of the season.

Umm, who said anything about the defense? The OP clearly said that he thinks Ponder is at fault and ends with the thought that we should pursue Matt Flynn. I can read

Harvin's fumble took what could have been a quick start and turned it into easy points for the Seahawks while possibly taking points off the board for the Vikings.
Obviously Harvin is the problem

Realistically there are lots of problems and no, Harvin is not one of them.
Ponder definitely is having growing pains. I don't think benching him is the way to spur on his confidence. If Webb is beating him out in practice then that's one thing ... but I have no reason to believe that he'll do any better (at least in the passing game ... he might at least break off a nice run).
The bottom line is that the team invested a high draft pick in Ponder and like it or not, he'll get a fair shot. He'll finish out this year and unless the Vikings are in a position to get a top QB in the next draft he'll be starting next year too (and considering the investment, the fact Ponder has just over a seasons worth of games under his belt, and the fact that the Vikings have other holes to fill in the draft I don't think that's a problem).
The young OL is starting to get beat more but that's partly because teams are blitzing without concern of being beat when they do. Ponder isn't making his decision quickly enough to make a blitz pay.
Which leads to WRs and TEs not getting separation. Is Ponder holding onto the ball because he just can't make up his mind or because people aren't getting open on a regular basis?

Not unless his frustration level goes from understandable to distracting or divisive.

Both. On some plays it's problem A and some it's problem B. Then there's Problem C: the plays where he doesn't even get time to hold onto the ball too long or look for open receivers.
It's a freakin' mess.

I note with raised eyebrows that we just lost to a team that did not use such logic. That team invested a lot of money in a free agent QB, and they decided to go with the third round rookie instead. I say "play the guy that gives us the best chance to win". That's not Ponder.
At this point, with QB game ratings in the range of every pass being incomplete, we could just line up Toby or Percy (or Webb, say that's an idea!) and just go college ball run offense. Does anyone think it would have turned out worse than yesterday did? If Sidney Rice can outplay Ponder at QB, what's the point of filling the position.
