Isn't Jordan Hicks decent? I would have much preferred Akiem Hicks.

Yeah Hicks is a stud and very durable. 3rd longest streak of 51 games among active LBs. He’s known for his run defense. Averaged like 128 tackles a year. But it will be him and Kendricks in the middle. I really like the sounds of that

What I like most about Hicks is that the Cardinals kept drafting his replacement, and he kept beating them out.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:00 pm Yeah Hicks is a stud and very durable. 3rd longest streak of 51 games among active LBs. With the signings of Hicks and Phillips, it’s clear that KAM and KOC are emphasizing the repair of the Vikings’ 4th-worst run defense.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.

That's a good point I didnt think of it that way. And really he was cut because I think the Cardinals felt like they actually had to get the guys they drafted into the swing of things. Really excited for him and Kendricks in the middle of this 3-4J. Interesting comments from KOC when he learned Hicks was coming to Minnesota. Paraphrasing, he said that when he was coaching the Rams, he didn’t like playing against Hicks.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:59 amThat's a good point I didnt think of it that way. His second comment was that there were two linebackers in the NFL last year who had at least 100 tackles and 4 picks (Hicks and Eric Kendricks) — now they both play for the Vikings.
Is that an indication the Vikings plan to keep Kendricks?

Go ahead. I dare you.

Re: Vikings sign Jordan Hicks
His initial interview with the Vikings says a ton to me. It is not an accident as to why he is as good as he is.
This guy is super excited to also be alongside EK. I think he and EK in the middle behind Phillips is a great situation to be in.
Both Hicks and Phillips are very cerebral players. Very excited about these 2 signings.

Agree that Hicks and EK could be very nice together!

Re: Vikings sign Jordan Hicks
Hicks is without question a tackling machine. I know that from playing fantasy football with IDPs. Making lots of tackles doesn't necessarily = good player. It could be scheme, but it's better than not making lots of tackles. Seems like a good player on a reasonable contract.
