WR Chad Beebe is back with #Vikings 1-year minimum $920K, no split. https://twitter.com/DWolfsonKSTP/status ... 41160?s=20
Solid stuff, minimum contract, he's a good WR4. Now if only we had a good WR3

He's not a WR3. Hes a 4 at bestVikingLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 5:06 pm Not a bad offseason signing.
Look at it this way - Vikings have the WR 3 covered heading into the draft. If nothing else happens, they won't feel pressure to find a WR 3 and can focus on other positions.
OTOH, if the right guy does find his way to them in the draft, they can move on from Beebe without much damage. Let's say a Tutu Atwell is there in Round 4. They could take him and he'd be an instant upgrade at slot WR. But if things don't shake out that way in the draft, Beebe takes the pressure off to force a slot WR.
Not even that.YikesVikes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 6:31 pmHe's not a WR3. Hes a 4 at bestVikingLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 5:06 pm Not a bad offseason signing.

OK then, how about Beebe is a viable slot receiver? They still have a gaping hole at WR 3 (whatever that is), but Beebe covers them at slot and takes the "need" edge off at that position in the upcoming draft.YikesVikes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 6:31 pmHe's not a WR3. He is a guy who will take a roster spot from someone with actual potential.VikingLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 10:28 pmOK then, how about Beebe is a viable slot receiver? This seems like a non sequiturStumpHunter wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:01 pmVikingLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 10:28 pm

130th out of 140 qualifying wrs in yards per route run. He doesn't cover the Vikings at the slot or any position for that matter.
He should be considered nothing more than a camp body and have no impact on draft or free agent strategy based on his being one of the least productive WRs in the NFL last season.fiestavike wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:46 pmThis seems like a non sequiturStumpHunter wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:01 pm

He doesn't take a roster spot away from someone though. If the Vikings find someone better at his spot before the season starts they'll cut him and go with the better option.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:01 pmHe is a guy who will take a roster spot from someone with actual potential.VikingLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 10:28 pm
