Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
I think them drafting TE and forcing the issue with Rudolph is a real possibility. Rudolph has been loyal, but he's never really exploded. He is solidly in that 2nd tier of TE playing in the league. He isn't a Gronk of Travis Kelce. At a lower cap number they probably are happy with him and wouldn't really give it much thought, but in the current situation... something has to give.
I do agree that going DL early is very likely. Between 3T DT and DE they will have needs next year. This presents a great opportunity to get better and save cap space.
Maybe a draft of TE, DE/DT, and a trade back up to the 2nd to get a Guard? I'd be happy with that. I think RB is going to fall on Mike Boone's shoulders.
Paul Allen made a great comment yesterday about how the 2nd year guys are the ones who will really make or break this team this season. Which one of those young players takes a step forward? I think he is right about that. Those developments will mean more to the team in 2019 than what happens over the next three days.

Agreed. I have to image they approach Rudy about a restructure sooner than later. He said he's willing to do that and we still need cap space following the draft to sign all our picks. I'd be happy with that situation as well. As for RB, there are going to be so many out there and they will run late into the draft. We will have plenty of opportunity to get one. Whether the #2 ends up being Boone or the rookie, who knows. But I am definitely a fan of Boone. His contract seems to be the most likely contract restructured to get room to sign the rookies. It is surprising it hasn't happened yet, but the Vikings might be waiting to see what they get in the draft to decide if they should force him to take less this year and not extend his contract, or take less this year with an extension into next.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 8:30 amAgreed. Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
I have a buddy that's a Raiders fan. It was reported last week that they are going to have a "surprise pick" at 4th overall. When I heard that I noticed on Walter Football that there was no player the Raiders met with more than Dwayne Haskins but nobody was talking about it, reporting it, nothing. I told my buddy it's going to be Haskins and he thinks I'm crazy but I've said it all along. Haskins is going to the Raiders at 4 and it's going to put teams in absolute panic mode early on. Lock and Jones are going to be coming off the table sooner than later because of this pick. I saw today that it's starting to surface that the Raiders could draft Haskins.
This could very well cause the Giants to pull the trigger at 6 on Lock or Jones and then it would be an all out war between Denver, Washington and Miami to get the one remaining QB. The team that benefits most from the Raiders drafting Haskins? Tampa Bay. They are sitting at 5 in between the Raiders and Giants. That is the team that will be receiving the most calls from those 3 teams I listed and they could get a monster haul from a team that is desperate and the Redskins, Dolphins and Broncos have been the definition of desperate over the past few years and will be in this draft. However, they very well could stay put because chances are, Josh Allen Devin White and Ed Oliver will be on the board right there. So they can really rape one of these teams that calls for a trade up with what they are asking for.
Good news for us, the more QBs that go before 18, the better the players are that fall to us. I'm pumped just thinking about it haha. Easily my favorite time of the year.

To piggy-back off of a couple of you guys' thoughts...in my mock draft, I selected Sweat 1st round. I found myself choosing between him and Haskins.
Both of these guys could go top 10, and both could slide to us. If they both are available, with no OL or Iowa TEs still there, which would you take?

Yeah got it right here. I wonder if they’re worried they’ll be a run on lineman before them
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline told ESPN 99.1 that he has heard the Minnesota Vikings are trying to trade up to select Washington State T Andre Dillard.
The Vikings are a name that we've heard attached to offensive line throughout out the draft -- and for good reason, this was not a good unit in 2018 -- and if they view Dillard as the top tackle in this class, it shouldn't shock anyone if they did what they needed to acquire him. They pick 18th, but one thing to keep an eye on is that there are several teams that need tackles like the Texans, Dolphins and (potentially) Bengals they may need to get ahead of. We'll be curious to see where the former Cougar goes on Thursday, for sure.

Anyone else getting “internal server error repeatedly”?
Hope they don’t panic and trade up. Let it come to you!

Yeah I’d rather not trade up. There will be PLENTY of talent at 18

I don't like this chat function. Cliff, I know you work hard at this but the chat just doesn't work.

There goes Williams. I'm hoping for Bradbury.

Genuinely think we're gonna go with a Tight End with where we are.
