Can we stop calling him "Flip" though? I know it's easier to type, but there's only room for one Flip in Minnesota sports and it's doing the real Flip (RIP) a disservice.

Re: Kirk Cousins is having an MVP season
Cousins isn’t this bad of a QB given what he’s shown the past few weeks. However this offensive coordinator and offensive line, are. Kirk cousins is a good QB, idc what anyone says. Is he Tom Brady, Rivers, mahomes, etc? No. But he’s good enough to bring this team where it needs to go. Anyone with half a brain knows that Kirk cousins is a better pure QB than case Keenum and has also been WAY more consistent over his career. We get a better QB this year and a MUCH worse OC. It doesn’t add up.me4get wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 11:32 pmJDF and the horrid OL, ESPN even said as muchPurpleKoolaid wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 11:14 pm Rick sure knows how to draft and get the QB in FA doesnt he? He is a QB genius!!!!!!!!
But the QBs problems this year are based solely on Flip calling bad plays.
We have eclipsed 20+ carries by one back ONCE in 13 games (Murray vs Arizona) and he went for 150ish. Cook has 140 yards on 29 carries in two games. Averaging 4.8 per carry but averaging less than 15 carries a game. Cousins is averaging over 40 passes on the year per game. It’s DRASTICALLY unbalanced. Him and Zim aren’t on the same page. They said it all game.
Do you know why Seattle has the best run offense in the nfl? Because they KNOW their OL is terrible at pass blocking. There is no possible way that Wilson should be sacked 6 more times than cousins on the year when he has 130+ LESS pass attempts. Also doesn’t add up. Seattle’s line is excellent at run blocking but pass blocking they are even worse than ours. Look at the numbers, they don’t lie. It’s just ours looks that much worse because 1.) we don’t have a mobile QB like Wilson and 2.) were throwing THAT much more than Seattle is. 130 pass attempts is over 4 games worth of pass attempts for Russell Wilson. FOUR GAMES. Could you imagine if Wilson had 4 more games on cousins right now how much more he would be sacked than cousins? He’d blow him out of the water. It would be like a 15+ sack difference. They commit to the run because they know they can’t hold up in the pass. They aren’t putting the game on Wilson. They are putting it on 3 backs that are all about average to a little above average right now. FLIP is putting the game on Kirk cousins. Dalvin cook is a freaking stud and Murray is an excellent backup and we are bottom of the league in rushing. This OL can run block. They’ve shown it the last two games. Bottom line is, Seattle knows they have bad pass blockers so they ADJUST. We (should) know we have bad pass blockers as well and a much less mobile QB and we continue to push the pass. THATS the problem. You can get away with a bad pass blocking OL if you’re doing what Seattle is. You can’t if you’re throwing 40 times a game.
Blame Spielman, blame Zim, blame the OL, blame cousins, Flip is the problem here. And either Zim isn’t saying shi* when he should be or flip is downright ignoring it and doing it how he wants. Kirk cousins is FAR from the problem of this team. Look how bad Aaron Rodgers and the packers were this year when they had bad playcalling. I hate Rodgers with a passion but he was changing plays because of how bad McCarthy was. Rodgers has looked beyond his prime. Is it him or McCarthy? Idk but signs point to McCarthy. The same is going for flip.
I called out so many short yardage plays tonight out loud in front of my tv it wasn’t even funny. The 4th and inches was obvious. The 3rd and 1 and 3rd and 2 were obvious. “Let’s bring in Murray for the 2nd time all game, Treadwell for his blocking and cj ham”.....hmmm I wonder what they are going to do....run up the gut. Why give it to Dalvin cook right? Or even sneak it since that worked twice.
Nobody that watches football can sit here and truly say case Keenum is a better QB than cousins. It’s showing this year. Keenum is one of the worst starting QBs in the league and was a career backup prior to his miracle season. He will be back to being a backup sooner than later. This team shouldn’t be worse with Kirk cousins. Which is why I don’t blame cousins because there is one underlying factor in all of it and it’s Flip. He doesn’t have a clue. Does cousins make mistakes? Of course. I’m not blind to it. But it goes way beyond that. And for all the guys saying we need a “mobile QB”, then how are guys like Brady and Peyton manning so successful? They don’t get touched and they have balance in their offense. Not saying cousins is anywhere near them because he isn’t but seeing guys complain in that chat anytime an offensive lineman gets ran over, a guy runs through untouched, a guy gets hurt, someone drops a ball, an incomplete pass, etc and say “fu Kirk”, “can we get a refund”, “Keenum is better” makes me wanna puke. Russell Wilson threw 20 passes for 72 yards tonight. THAT makes me wanna puke. He couldn’t hit a WR in stride if his life depended on it tonight. Which is why they continued to pound the ball and NOT put the game in Wilson’s hands.
Since our offense has crapped the bed everything, no matter WHAT it is, is being thrown on Cousins. And sorry but that’s wrong. I can point out PLENTY of mistakes he’s made this year for all those that want to come at me thinking I think he’s “god”. But I always say when things go wrong, I search for the WHY. And the WHY is NOT Kirk cousins. The why is JDF. It couldn’t be more clear at this point.
Another reason why case Keenum would suck fat a$s just like he is in Denver if he was still here with Flip is because Flip is a pass heavy, one dimensional, predictable OC and Keenum is one of the most mistake prone QBs out there. Case Keenum couldn’t throw the weight on his shoulders if his life depended on it. Neither can Cousins. Neither can Rodgers for Christ sake. Keenum would be an absolute train wreck this year. Arguably worse than he is in Denver right now. Nobody can sit here and honestly say if case Keenum is throwing 40 times a game, we’d be winning more games right now. Not a freaken chance. And I can just about guarantee that if we had Keenum and he is the train wreck us football fans know he would be, guys would be saying “Spielman is such an idiot to rely on this guy”, “Spielman doesn’t ever spend money in FA”, “ we should’ve went after cousins”, etc. GUARANTEED.
I’m excited to have cousins for the next 2 years. But I might turn off the tv from here on out if Flip stays as OC for the next two years. Take it or leave it but Flip is the #1 problem right now and it’s even becoming obvious to analysts, the media and the fans

Agreed. JDF is what I always use; even shorter, at 3 letters.PacificNorseWest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:36 am Can we stop calling him "Flip" though? I know it's easier to type, but there's only room for one Flip in Minnesota sports and it's doing the real Flip (RIP) a disservice.

I feel obligated to point out that the irony of this thread's title is increasingly painful.
