You're remembering correctly.

My bad.

Either way though, his bar is high, you don't bail on what you know works until its totally untenable. I don't think the Vikings are there and like you have all pointed out, no viable alt
I think he hit all of his FGs over 50 yards that year.

Blair Walsh is getting some kicks in at the Winter Park field house on day off for Vikings players.

No talk needed w/ Walsh, says Zimmer: "I don’t talk to Eric Kendricks when he makes a bad play. We correct it, move on. That’s what we do.”

funny how having a fearsome defense can help cover up deficits like a spotty kicker.

When he is practicing they need to pump crowd noise in or do it on a pair of ear buds....try to replicate pressure....some how.

He needs to practice under the guise that if he misses a midget will dash out and kick him in the nuts.

I wish that was a real thing. It would take the sting out of watching the misses. Well ... except for Walsh.

Yeah, because THAT won't make him nervous.

Plus, now the scouts have to find a small person with a high kick radius!

If we give Walsh a little more time, he will probably end up kicking himself in the nuts at some point.

Maybe the Vikings should take delay of game penalties on extra points until Walsh is about 40 yards out.

Whatever his issue is, I can't imagine him relaxing fully until he makes a big pressure kick. I hope the playoffs won't be his first opportunity this year, cause I don't trust him in a game on the line situation.

I really think its more of a mechanical issue than anything else. Just because someone once said that Kickers are headcases doesn't mean they all are  More than likely he is probably just doing something physical and hasnt adjusted it yet. Didnt he have a problem his senior year with this and Preifer said "no I know him, I can fix it" ? or something like that? My guess is that something mechanically or physically has changed and he and priefer are still in the process of adjusting for it. Hence him pulling it the same way he was his senior year. I am sure it sucks missing kicks but hes been missing them his whole career. Its not like this is is first bad stretch, especially when you go back to college, which imo would be even more high pressure because you go to class with all the fans on Monday.
