Due to medical privacy laws, we will not know exactly what happened to Teddy. I doubt the full evaluation gets released to the public. It surely could, but I don't anticipate it.

Like I stated last week, the ambulance was called because the knee dislocation he suffered could have severely damaged his neuro-vascualr integrity. It is extremely rare for an ambulance to be called for a football related injury that doesn't involve the head/neck. It is almost unheard of the ambulance to arrive for a non-contact lower extremity injury.

I could sit here and try to surmise exactly what ligamentous damage Teddy has, but what is the point? It is not fair to Teddy to speculate. Plus, it is an exercise in futility. That is why I hate hearing all these 'opinions' out there about his injury. Simply put: the casual fan and media-type have zero clue about the extent of his injury. HELL, I truly don't 'know' anything either.

If more information comes out, I will try to explain as best as I can. I am not an orthopedic surgeon however, and by no means should I be labeled an expert. I would really appreciate hearing an ortho's take on this injury (like Dr. Chao) if/when the real extent of Teddy's injury is released.

In the meantime, let's all rally around Teddy and hope there are no complications in his surgery and subsequent rehabilitation. He is a great person and didn't deserve this injury - no one in this world does.

I would too but Chao sounds pretty confident that more than just the ACL was torn and based on what little I know about this subject (which is certainly less than you or Dr. Chao), that does seem likely, given the severity of the injury as reported. Wouldn't you agree that it's unlikely the ACL was the only ligament damaged?

I agree, I wouldn't wish it anybody and I hope he makes a full recovery.

In 2014 McCarron was drafted Rd 5 pick 164. The Vikings, Rd 5 pick 145 selected Dave Yankey. Yankey is no longer on the Vikings roster.

During the draft, the Vikings QB depth chart consisted of Teddy Bridgewater (Drafted Round 1), Matt Cassel, who had just signed a 2-year contract in March, and Christian Ponder. At that point Cassel was the clear #1 with Ponder and Bridgewater fighting for 2-3. A few weeks into the 2014 season, Cassel broke his foot and went on injured reserve and Teddy was thrust into the starting role to be backed up by Ponder.
And exactly who in that bunch is a decent qb going forward from that point is my question. I see it as patchwork when it could have at least been addressed with the future in mind.

Lol, I like how he was practically begging to tell the Teddy story.

So the question is. Has he had the surgery to repair the knee?

I thought they had to wait until the swelling went down first. I don't think he's had it yet because of that. I think I recall something about later this week.

I believe they always wait for the swelling to go down before doing those type of operations. There seems to be a lot of speculation Teddy might not even be ready
for next season.
