Athletes' statements are often crafted by a PR staff. Teddy Bridgewater's was not. Handed the team a handwritten draft of it.

ACL surgery not until late next week due to swelling#Vikings' Teddy Bridgewater is out of the hospital, according to his adviser, former NFL safety Abe Elam. "He is handling everything well."

Re: Bridgewater Down
Hmmm, let's look at some silver linings. Our entire defense is back and a year more experienced so they should be taking a step forward. Teddy would have been vastly improved and the chemistry should have been much improved, but still, Hill can do exactly what TB did last year. Play conservative, don't turn the ball over, and run AD into the ground..... Heck it's ADs last year anyways, I think !
The ENTIRE team is much improved - one guy. And... That guy didn't put up huge numbers anyways.
This is a rallying call. I think we can still make a big push to the SB.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Just need a Trent Dilfer type of season from the QBs. Let the defense win the SB and trust the coaches !!!IIsweet wrote:Hmmm, let's look at some silver linings. Rick Spielman said he has heard "everything from two days to two years" on Bridgewater. They just don't know yet. #Vikings

Spielman said team has options on QBs but "there's no one in the organization who doesn't think Shaun Hill can take us where we want to go."

Teddy Bridgewater was at the team facility today, his reps met with Vikings to discuss surgery options, per GM Rick Spielman

Re: Bridgewater Down
How is being realistic, fairweather fans? Maybe it's fans, who are sick of a GM who puts little value on the QB position. This franchise has done that as a whole, since almost forever.Norv Zimmer wrote:
Nice Post and I agree 100% so may peeps have been saying seasons over thats it we are done blah blah blah. Fair weather fans annoy the piss outta me!
A high pick wasn't spent until 2011. He had 2 years of Favre to deal with that. He gives us Ponder, and never drafted a serious backup, to not make him feel threatened. He drafts Teddy in 2014, also no real backup plan. We are where we are, because of the lackluster approach.
Now he will wait until Teddy rehabs, to make a move. What if Teddy turns out like Daunte? 2 years will be wasted, before we know.
You can't win indoors with game manager QBs. History has made that very clear, over and over. It just doesn't happen. You can grab a playoff spot here and there, but not serious contention. It simply has never happened.
So you might say fairweather fan, and I might say realistic fan.
