Thank goodness there was no damage to his popliteal artery and/or peroneal nerve. The peroneal nervel is what I was worried about earlier when I was wondering if he had tibiofibular structural damage.

It sounds like Teddy suffered a dislocation about his tibiofemoral joint. A rare (especially for non-contact), but painful injury. On top of that, he tore his ACL (not surprised since he dislocated the knee). That being said, this injury could have been very serious.

He's out for the season. Unfortunately, no matter who it is, no one can come back from that injury within four months.

I think there are several players available who could put up equal numbers in the very same situation, maybe one who could probably do better.

This isn't a fun thing, but I think the biggest concern is Teddy's long term development, in the here and now I think with the right move you could plug a backup in without a large drop in production from Bridgewater.

It goes to show though, that you could possibly retain a backup who can produce as good if not better, which imo, is a good thing for your team.

Not many frontline QB's will be available this time of year, for any price. but if we could get some one who is familiar with Norv's offense and was willing to pay whatever it took I would see if San Diego would trade Phillip Rivers. Not going to happen, but dream big!

Trading for Rivers would be a big move, especially if you still consider Bridgewater your starter going forward.
