Rick Spielman said Laquon Treadwell has a great catching radius and also is a good run blocker.

Billings is my guy, but Spence, Ragland, Robinson, Reed are all great too.
I stand by TTs decision, regardless.

He always seems to take the consensus picks. If a guy is on a lot of boards, and falls, Rick will snatch him up. Good bad or indifferent. I wonder if it isn't just the way they rank/scout might be more "mainstream" so the boards end up similar to many projections. Even in mid to late rounds he takes a lot of guys that we as fans think would be good picks. Or the top pick at the time. Last year there were a few. Top ranked on multiple websites in the fifth, and he takes them. Don't seem to bust on them, but not huge hits either. What a person should hope for at that point.S197 wrote:Anyone else slightly annoyed at how many mocks get Rick's pick right? A ton of mocks had them taking Treadwell. Same with Waynes. I think Barr was one that most mocks missed but either people are getting better at their projections (top 10 picks say otherwise) or Rick's poker face is not so good.

Makes me wonder if Rick is just following the mocks!!! That's why he always gets good grades

A decade ago, we could have all headed to bed. Rick has a way of keeping it interesting for us, eh? Trade up?

Speed isn't the only way to get separation.

Treadwell routinely wins off the line against press coverage, and doesn’t tip his routes. In fact, he sells the defender on the idea he’s stay shallow before shuttling downfield. He utilizes that same deception with the subtle head fakes to send a corner one way before breaking the opposite direction to earn separation.

@austincbelisle Spielman: "With his strength and his quickness for his size, I think he could potentially make some mismatches at his level."
Rick Spielman wouldn't comment on whether the #Vikings considered Myles Jack or not.
He thinks Treadwell's injury in '14 had an impact on his slow start in '15. Said he hit stride near the end. Thinks it will only get better.
Spielman said Treadwell kind of reminds him of Anquan Boldin and Eric Moulds.
@christomasson Rick Spielman "I think the 40 time might have have knocked him (back) a little....I feel very strongly he plays faster than (looked pro day)
Spielman: "He has the kind of character to come back from that devastating injury...expect a year removed he'll be that much better."

I'm more worried about how Treadwell will work with Norv than with Teddy. This is the kind of receiver Teddy needs. And fits the kind of offense the team will hopefully start running more of with Teddy.

I agree. Although I really wanted my local guy Doctson, I think Treadwell is a better match with Teddy's game.
