I believe he played under Sparano in Oakland at one point. Was a promising player at that stage.

I'm hoping the mystery player is Donald Penn. I think he can beat out Kalil for the starter spot and improve the LT play. I guess you'd be paying 11 million for a backup tackle, but you'd have one of the best backup tackles in the league.

If they bring in Holmes as well they will have at least addressed every position of need to some degree.

Boone is clearly a big time signing. Great contract too. Didn't have to pay too much either

Lamur has a lot of potential and is very athletic like Barr and could start on the outside at WLB

Griffin is similar to Nelson and Zim obviously has confidence in him

Lewis is a solid special teamer

And we bring Harris in for competition at RG which I think he could win.

Overall, I was pretty happy today. Pretty much sets us up for a WR in the first round
I agree WR with 23 for sure! Maybe Treadwell will fall to us if not Doctson. Both have big catch radius and go up to get the ball.

The heck does that mean?
I'll tell you what it means: it means Shaun Hill needs to step aside. Christian Ponder is coming back to town!

Bengals OT Andre Smith scheduled to vising #Vikings next
Here's our mystery man. I definitely like this a lot better than Bushrod. Smith has a rough year last year but has been pretty solid for a long time

FA is all good but I still have hopes for Easton, Sirles, Shepherd, and Harris (S). One thing can be said for sure......lots of competition in camp and it will be fierce.......and we still have the draft. Can't freakin wait.

Disagree. Smith has been horrible. He's also a RT. I'd argue between Phil and Harris we have adequate depth there (even if you want to include Clemmings). Our LT depth is little and non-existent. I'd be disappointed if we signed him.

Michael Griffin gets a $250K signing bonus, and a $500K roster bonus based on games he's active. Also has $500K base salary guarantee.

Interesting note that @TomPelissero pointed out. None of Phil Loadholt's new base salary is guaranteed. #Vikings

2016 Vikings Free Agency Thread (News, Rumors, Transactions)

#ZimmerEffect
Emmanuel Lamur said there was pretty much one reason why he joined the #Vikings, and it shouldn't surprise you: Mike Zimmer.
New Vikings guard Alex Boone said once he found out Minnesota was interested, he told his agent, "I don't care who else is involved – I definitely would go to Minnesota over everybody." The 6-foot-8, 300-pound guard grew up in Ohio, and said he always remembered the NFC North having the "toughest, meanest, nastiest guys." Said Boone: "I feel like I was born to play in this division." Where did he get his attitude? "My grandma," he said. "She's full-blown Irish. She's crazy."
