Zim believes pairing Harrison Smith with the right safety can help them get even more out of him. Is that guy on the team? "I don't know."

"I do think we have a good nucleus of young guys on defense; we're not anywhere near where I want to be." - Coach Zimmer

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer doesn't know if Teddy Bridgewater will throw more next year but wants to be able to say next year he took over the offense. "It's going to be his baby eventually."

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said Trae Waynes was in a good situation last year learning from vets and playing special teams. It is a situation of learning the pro game for him.

I saw some real potential in Trae Waynes last season. He seemed to get more acclimated to the NFL game as the season progressed.

How funny was it after the first preseason game when everyone around here was calling for dudes head?

Thats not accurate at all. Some of us said "Yikes, he's not close to being a starter. He's not going to be like Anthony Barr and make an impact from day one". And then another part of the board said "He's not a bust, give him a chance!"
That said, he did make huge leaps throughout the year.

So I exaggerated a bit.
