WTF EVERSON TOO?! I thought he was over his shoulder problem!
That leaves Smith, Rhodes, Barr, Joseph, and Griffen all either seriously hampered or out this weekend. Anybody want to make a case that those aren't our 5 best defenders?
Also noted: thanks for the history/mythology lesson, Jim. And as always, thanks for the medical insight, Hardcore.
Good news with Joseph. Not looking good for Barr, Griffen. Also, the plot thickens for Charles Johnson.
Linval Joseph returns to Vikings practice
For the second straight day, a key Vikings defender returned to practice.
Yesterday, it was safety Harrison Smith. Today, it was nose tackle Linval Joseph, who has missed two straight games with a toe injury. Joseph had a helmet on and was participating in position drills with his fellow defensive linemen before media was booted out of practice.
Outside linebacker Anthony Barr (groin) and defensive end Everson Griffen (shoulder) sat out practice again. They were spotted off to the side doing some activity, though, so they weren’t completely idle.
Defensive end Scott Crichton (neck/concussion) and wide receiver Charles Johnson also sat out. We’re not sure what’s up with Johnson at this point, but we’ll find out later when the injury report comes out.

@Andrew_Krammer Anthony Barr and Harrison Smith stood on the sideline without helmets during open portion of Friday practice. Joseph and Griffen practicing.

@Andrew_Krammer Still no Scott Crichton (concussion) at practice for #Vikings, so DE Justin Trattou may go from waived to re-signed to active in two weeks

Both Barr and Smith's injuries are the types that have long lingering potential. They just take time to get right...and as someone said earlier, I'd rather them be as close to 100% as possible before seeing them on the field. If that mans they don't play til week 17, so be it.
It's more important to have them for playoff games IMO....I would think they can get in without them if it came to that.
The Giants game is huge.
