Would ya want to sign Peyton Manning as a FA next year?

i'd sign him in an instant and pay him 20 million. we have wasted peterson's prime years he deserves one last shot to play with a real quarterback. kaepernick is no better purple haze, bad mechanics and poor downfield vision. the only difference is he is built more stout, but as a passer he sucks just as much.

But, even if you think Manning has more in him, I think this Dailynorseman post( http://www.dailynorseman.com/2015/12/7/ ... gotta-give) really points out why Manning and Peterson wouldn't make a good pairing at this point in their careers. Just like Bridgewater, Manning is having his success out of the shotgun formation not under center where Peterson prefers to lineup....also as has been mentioned our O-Line doesn't appear up to the task of protecting a statue.

Think about it. With Bridgewater struggling, Just one year under the greatest mind in football history and who knows how much better he could get. And i personally think Peyton just has 1 more year in him anyway, i think he's just having a bad year.

Teddy is arguably the better player right now, T Jack could never say that in comparison to Favre, Favre didn't have a washed up noodle arm coming off arguably the worst season of his career. You don't pay 40 something year old QBs coming off terrible a season to come in and start over first round draft picks.

Alot is made of Rodgers learning from Favre, and while I think it came into play to an extent, it is much overstated, Favre had little to do with the development of Rodgers.

Nobody was doubting Favres armstrength, and he wasn't coming off of arguably his worst year as a pro, Manning is, and he can't drive the ball downfield anymore. Also T-Jack was a second round pick who was going into his fourth year, Bridgewater is a 1st rounder that you traded up for who wil be going into his third year.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, and even if it wasn't, the money you would have to give Manning would render it not worthy the price. In fact, you guys are lucky Favre worked out like he did for that first year because he probably had the greatest season by a 'stopgag' QB in NFL history. Manning isn't far ahead of Bridge at this point in his career.

You really want to spend money and cap room on Manning? Unless he reverted to his prior form, which is unlikely, I simply can't envision a scenario where that would be worth it.

I don't understand why anyone would want Peyton Manning as more than backup at this point. He has one of the weakest arms in the league and has no mobility at this point. In this offense he would retire midseason from all the hits and unlike teddy he isn't taking care of the ball which is obvious by his 17 interceptions this season.

I would imagine the reason we did it is because 1.) we get the 5th year option and 2.) we probably wanted to jump Houston who was picking first in the second.

Manning is done. He literally had zero arm strength left. Favre had plenty and was much more mobile. It's not even a comparison. I've been down on Teddy this season but did you even watch the last game? It was his best game of the season against one of the best defenses in the NFL on the road. And it's because Norv finally realized he can't send everyone down field. With our line issues, Manning would literally be in a wheel chair. At least Teddy is mobile and can get out of the pocket.

It would be ridiculously stupid for us to sign Manning. As I said before, Teddy and AP aren't a good match because Teddy is better out of the gun and AP needs to have him go under center. If we stick to a game plan like we had against Arizona, minus running everytime on first down, then I think we'll be fine. Manning is 100% a shotgun passer and could never come out from under center so how in any way do you see Manning would be a fit? It literally makes zero sense
