Well, that's fine, but you can't bunch all those teams together and equate to this team. It's a completely different team and it's its own team with its own coaching staff that is not the same as any of those other teams. You have to start from the bottom and grow. They did and they are. It's a positive signal that things are moving in the right direction.

Newman was pretty bad and I hate how we weren't able to get to Manning this week. He's just so fast at getting rid of the ball. But when he did take more than 2.2 seconds we couldn't get to him. That played a big role today.

Teddy did ok... His quarterback rating was 92.4
Peyton Manning's quarterback rating was 68.9
I was impressed with Diggs today. Don't see how they can keep him inactive. He was our leading receiver 6 - 87 yds
Wallace was 8 - 83 1 TD

Spread it out nice. Kyle doesn't seem that important in the tough games we really need to win.soflavike wrote:Teddy Bridgewater: 27/41 for 269 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 1 FUM
Teddy spread the ball around today.
Vikings Leading Receivers:
Diggs: 6 for 87 yds, 0 TD, 2 FUM
Wallace: 8 for 83 yds, 1 TD
Thielen: 6 for 70 yds
Peterson: 4 for 13 yds
Patterson: 1 for 9 yds.
Rudolph: 2 for 7 yds.

I think you know what he means. He was pleased with the fight this team had and that we took a very good team to the wire on the roadPurpleKoolaid wrote: ? No idea what you mean. You are excited by loses? Really? Or you liked some of the plays, like the AD run?

I don't know man teddy was pretty good this game all things considered. Our hocking was putrid, when he had time he typically made the throws. This was 2 evenly matched teams.VikingLord wrote:Tired of moral "victories". Broncos are just as poor across the offensive line. Can't run the ball (except against the Vikes, of course). And that vaunted secondary looked pretty average to me, yet Bridgewater couldn't take advantage of it.
If we play that at home we probably win, teddy couldn't hear shut on that last drive and I'm pretty sure was calling plays in the huddle. Also Walsh sucks. Ever since I touched him against the Jets last year he's been awful. If someone wants to fly me out to touch him again to undo the juju, let me know.
Re: Vikings @ Broncos Gameday Discussion Thread -- Week 4
Great effort but I'm never satisfied over a lost.
The O-Line needs to improve. In order for this offense to get better this O-Line needs to step it up.
Blair Walsh inconsistency is hurting us too. Next season we need competition at kicker.
Rhodes need to play better. These PI calls are ridiculous. At the rate as he keeps getting flagged, this is unacceptable.
Other than that the team played well. Just the O-Line and Blair Walsh who has really disappointed me this season.

Yea me too, while I understand that at some point you have to start finishing out the close ones, knowing that you can compete head to head with some of the best the NFL has to offer IS a victory in and of itself, you guys are a young team.fiestavike wrote: I'm with you.

I don't know why they didn't have a guy help out Clemmings, he was CLEARLY overmatched and Ellison chipped the hell out of Miller earlier in the game. Makes no sense to keep him out there alone.
I like the fight in this team, we've seen many circumstances in the past where this team would have crumpled under similar situations but the moral victories do get old.
Oh yeah, and where the heck was Kyle Rudolph today??

I am not going to humor every single response directed my way because we will just call it what it is and agree to disagree. Ya'll can keep nagging and armchair your way through your own thoughts, but I take today as a loss, but as a sign that they are a team that is growing and learning. You can learn to win by losing too.

Re: Vikings @ Broncos Gameday Discussion Thread -- Week 4
this is a young team that competed hard against a better opponent. I don't think this is the same thing we've seen from this team for so many years. typically they just back into a loss, back into the playoffs, blow it against a team that isn't better, or get thoroughly owned in big games. They actually looked like they belonged there, despite being really outgunned by this denver pass rush. I wouldn't have called that game the way Norv did, and I could see criticizing him for it. It was overly ambitious and optimistic, but I do think it forged some heart and courage that Teddy's been missing the last 3 weeks. Its like that QB that just needs to get hit before he can wake up and start making plays. He HAD to MAKE PLAYS to have a chance in this game, and he did a valiant job of it. I think this game really will pay dividends.Mothman wrote: I understand the sentiment but I'm not feeling satisfied at all.
