Krauser @Krauserrific

Eric Kendricks leads all ILBs in Run Stop % as per @PFF: 7 "stops" on 40 run plays (17.5%), with only 1 missed tackle
Krauser @Krauserrific

Kendricks is also @PFF's 5th highest rated ILB in coverage. On 44 coverage snaps, he's allowed 2/6 for 7 yards (0.16 YPCS)

@christomasson Mike Zimmer said he hasn't told players so wouldn't say if teddy will play thurs my guess is no

@christomasson Mike Zimmer says Cordarrelle Patterson continuing to work at receiver doesn't shed much light on his receiver situation

• With five preseason games this year, Zimmer noted a couple benefits, including an extra game to try things out and less of a need to see some players, likely starters, in extended situations. Bridgewater has played two snaps in the second quarter through four exhibitions.

"We've been able to look at the nickel position a little bit more," Zimmer said. "We've been able to maybe not play the guys as long in a bunch of games, more short-term, short-term. I think that's helped us in doing those things quite a bit. It's allowed us to, I don't know if tinker is the right word, but move guys around."

Heinicke is a perfect 3rd string QB. Great guy to develop and season over time.

Kafka was cut today, I saw.

I agree Heinicke has been pretty good in the preseason and think Turner is the prefect guy to develop him.
Would like to see him stay.

Also, if Teddy ever got hurt and Heinicke had to start for us, we could just drink a bunch of heineken and laugh about the whole thing.

In that case, I'd rather find a QB named Lagunitas or Surly. :beerchug:

Zing..

A man after my own heart. Wouldn't mind a local lad from St. Paul named Summit to be tossing the ball around either. Hops....

Just go with two QBs. Seems like we have a great guy to develop every two years, and they dont develop, or last two years. You don't develop QBs, you find them, draft them, and start them.

1) I don't think anybody is calling him great, just worthy of a roster spot.

2) Are you saying no QB is ever developed? And where is the cutoff line for where they need to be drafted? Is it too late to use a pick on Russell Wilson in the third? Rich Gannon in the fourth? Matt Hasselbeck or Tom Brady in the sixth? Roger Staubach in the tenth? Bart Starr in the seventeenth round? And why do they have to be drafted? Should nobody have taken chances on Jeff Garcia, Tony Romo, Kurt Warner, or Warren Moon?

And what do you do for backups? Do you just draft a starter and if they don't work out they become the backup? Should we have a depth chart of Bridgewater/Ponder/Jackson?

And shoot, we didn't draft Shaun Hill, either. He's gotta go. Who is going to take his spot?

I'm just really perplexed by this, so unless you have a lot of answers, can we pump the breaks on the doom and gloom for a second?

Did you sleep through Brad Johnson's career? ;)

I think I actually understand your point but I'd rather see them go with 3 QBs. In the injury-plagued NFL, it's not unusual for teams to need to play the third QB on their roster. The Rams were down to theirs before the end of the week 1 opener against the Vikes last year. The Vikes were forced to start their 3rd QB in week 5. I think it's preferable to have a player who's been in the system and practicing with the team that can step in if needed.

I could understand if Heineke didn't look as good, but i wouldn't want to lose hi. To another team right now.

I would take Heinecke as my second string QB rather than Shaun "OVER THE HIll", Hill.

Yeah just keeping two because you just assume he won't develop just makes no sense. Given Hill's age, having Heinecke is extremely important and showed very well in the preseason. When was the last developmental guy that showed that well in pre season Demi? I sure can't remember one.
