I mentioned a few days ago how it was nice to see all the positive tweets about Hodges early in camp. Well, it looks like he has only looked better since then and Zimmer has said some good things about him in recent days. Not sure how the move to MLB will work out but I think it's clear that Zimmer is looking for ways to get him on the field more.

Barr, Kendricks, and Hodges gives the Vikings a nice trio of young and athletic LBs who will be a nightmare out there. Not a shot at Greenway but I really hope his snaps are somewhat limited and the other three are the top guys at LB.

Yeah I want Barr/ Cole/ Hodges to be the starts come first game of season.. If injuries interfere Hodges/Cole Greenway...

Next Season or possibly late this year Barr/Kendricks/Hodges

I think Greenway can be effective but will need to be rotated. Luckily, Zimmer seems to understand that and will probably be able to keep Greenway fresh if he's rotated in and out enough.

Day 8 Training Camp Notebook

http://www.mnvikingscorner.com/2015/08/ ... l?spref=tw
The Vikings have no problems with their starting quarterback. Teddy Bridgewater hasn't had a bad practice in training camp. He is continually making tough throws and is passing the ball in locations where the receiver is the only player capable of catching the pass.
It's pretty simple -- Cordarrelle Patterson is running better routes this season. He ran a quick slant and hauled in the reception with cornerback Josh Thomas on his backside. Patterson also ran a smooth crossing route and hauled in the pass with Jabari Price trailing behind him. He is finding ways to get open and the coaches were praising his route running in individual drills today.
Phil Loadholt looks absolutely phenomenal in 1-on-1 drills against the defensive lineman. He didn't lose a battle today and hasn't lost many in training camp.
Hunter getting after it, Floyd is quick

Danielle Hunter won every single 1-on-1 battle and saw a few snaps as the rotational left defensive end in team drills. He continues to get off the ball quick and uses his strength to muscle his way into interior rushing situations. Hunter was working on the sleds and Andre Patterson praised him for staying low and exploding. Shariff Floyd won every 1-on-1 battle but one today. He torched David Yankey and followed it up by beating Mike Harris. Floyd also blew up a running play to Jerick McKinnon in the backfield. The defensive line continues to rotate players and are trying to find the best ways to rush the quarterback with their personnel.
Too much to post. Good stuff. More here: http://www.mnvikingscorner.com/2015/08/ ... l?spref=tw

Wow! Apparently, day 8 of training camp was a good one. Lots of positives. I love reading good news about all these guys, especially Teddy and CP.

It's also great to read about guys like Floyd stepping up on the DL.

This team needs better consistency at the line of scrimmage from both the OL and DL. If that happens, this team will get good in a big way.

Sleeping? Seriously a lack of effort on his part. Let's get some pads on him and work on pass-blocking.

8/4 presser
@mattvensel Norv Turner said John Sullivan is having a good camp. But he jokingly expressed disappointment that Sullivan didn't name his new baby Norv.
@mattvensel Norv Turner was asked about the speed of the wide receiver group. He quipped that the #Vikings could put together a pretty good relay team.
@ArifHasanNFL Best moment had to be when Norv complimented WR unit's speed, someone asked "How does Thielen fit in?" "Adam's fast."
@Andrew_Krammer Mike Zimmer is expected to return for Thursday's practice. Norv Turner will run the #Vikings' night practice today. Off day Wednesday
@VikingsCorner Norv was saying that more games are being won in the last 4 minutes. Said conditioning is important to play fast in those situations.
@ArifHasanNFL Turner noncommittal about RB rotation. Sometimes he keeps one in for entire drive, other times switched bc of conditioning or down/distance
@GoesslingESPN When I talked to George Stewart yesterday, he said this WR group was the fastest he's ever had.
@ArifHasanNFL Says Rudolph would get more attention in camp, but the coverages they see in 11 package made WRs the right option.
@MasterStrib "He's a playmaker. You go out there and watch, he's making plays." - Norv Turner on Stefon Diggs #Vikings
@christomasson Norv turner said David Yankey has had two good days working at left tackle
@christomasson Norv turner said zac kerin looked good in place of Sullivan in first team at walkthrough.
(who?)
@christomasson Kyle Rudolph talked about improving his nutrition and eating habits Norv turner said he has more endurance, stronger

I have no doubt Frazier would have Greenway in for almost every play. i am so glad he isn't the coach anymore.

My youngest does a great impersonation of him saying, "Christan Ponder is our quarterback."
