Patterson, then Barr

Post by esox07 »

Who is next? Who will be the rookie to make a big splash this year?
Most will have Trae Waynes come to mind since he was the #11 overall pick, but the team is already hinting that he is going to be brought along slow and isn't likely to start through the first part of the season. If not him, then who? Or is he going to force the team during training camp to get him on the field early and often.

The smart money is probably on Kendricks. I think they might view him as a "plug and play" middle linebacker so he'll probably get an early opportunity to make an impact.

I've got a good feeling about Danielle Hunter. I know he's not slated for as many snaps as Waynes, Kendricks and maybe even TJ Clemmings, but I see him making the kind of impact Everson Griffen was able to make as a rotational player. If that's the case, he might be too good not to give more snaps to.

That is what I am salivating over. I am hoping this kid is going to be a big impact player. Hopefully right off the bat.

I kinda hope its Anthony Harris, the safety they got undrafted. Fell out of the draft due to an injury but we really need help opposite Smith. I would love a first class safety unit helping the corners.

Would love to see Harris or Exum step up and take that S job by the horns.

Indeed! Exum would be great but the question was rookie so I didn't consider him. I just want a great safety unit!

To be honest I hope We have three of them Harris, Kendricks and Clemmings ...

Hitting three players in one year would be like one of the great Steeler drafts in the 70's

If Fusco helps Kalil and Clemmings does a our job our OL would be very very good. There
is no way Teddy wouldn't have a great and Peterson.

Upgrading our MLB and other Safety spot would make our defense elite ...

My guess is a few more good drafts and will be looking at our first ring. I'm not forty year fan of the Vikings, but
I can tell after 20 plus years, I'm ready :smilevike:

doesn't it concern anyone that barr has had two separate knee injuries already? that is pretty bad. i know they said he returned to practice today, but he has basically had 2 injuries to his knees in less than a year.

Had a rental car the other day with XM radio and heard Pat Kirwan talking about one danger of the "hybrid" guys and conversion projects from college DE to pro LB is that they don't know how to protect their knees in space...he felt it was a real concern. I hadn't noticed a pattern related to that but he thought it was a significant issue.
