I think the retirement talk is hogwash. With how they've brought up guaranteed money, you know he(and his agent) are about the money. Peterson isn't about to make $0 sitting on the couch. While his agent may not make any additional money without a restructure, I don't believe for a second that Peterson is going to walk away from nearly $13 million if it came down to it.

I have to say that I am such a fan of Spielman through all of this. I’m glad he is basically taking a position of “screw you” with Dogra and AP on this. The behavior of AP is obnoxious through this entire escapade. I mean really, we are not loyal to him? He doesn’t deserve our loyalty he beat his kid. We paid him through his injury and his suspension. Now it is his turn to step up and show some appreciation and repentance. I get the NFL is a business and all of that, but that doesn't mean we the fans are required to cheer for somebody. AP has a lot of work to do to get back in our good graces, at least IMO.

True, but a player multi year deal starts with a large signing bonus, and there has been several players, who didn't complete those contracts
,and had to pay a portion of signing bonus back to the team, due to the fact the contract was not finished. Micheal Vick and Ricky Willams
and few others I can think of lost these law suits, in the past.

I don't think AP is bluffing; I think he is dead set on never playing in purple again, whether that means a trade or retirement.

They could go after $2.4 million that has already been paid to him. So retirement would cost him money out of his account.

Hopefully someone will make an offer like they got for Harvin. The lack of any movement from either side makes me think there isn't that level of interest out there. What does that say for his value?

If it's just about money...and they want to keep him that badly to finish out his contract, they could get this out of the way right now by guaranteeing more of the money. Which obviously they don't want to do. But do they want a happy player or a disgruntled one?

Hopefully Jones steps in with a nice offer, makes this trade happen, and gets this headache off the teams hands!

Well if you weren't being offered anything legit this past draft, what makes you think they will get picks next year or anything better than they would've gotten this year for that matter? This is why I said if we were going to trade him, do it during this past draft because it is when his value would be the highest it will ever be again. That didn't happen so at this point, you're better off keeping him and not trading him away for peanuts.

For the 800th time, he isn't going to Dallas. They currently have one of the worst cap situations in the league. How on earth do you think they are going to pick up his salary with no cap room?? I can just about guarantee they aren't trading any of their big money players away like Romo, Tyron Smith, Dez, etc. So what in the hell are you hoping for?? They have no other way to clear that cap room unless they give one of those big money players up if not more. That isn't happening so you're drawing dead with Dallas. Everyone, move on.

It has nothing to do with "lack of movement". They could simply be getting calls and the Vikings could simply be turning them down. They don't want to trade him and have nothing in place behind him. If I am Spielman, you better be offering me the farm for him right now otherwise you're shi* out of luck. Either way, you don't know what they were offered during the draft but I sure do imagine they were getting calls. Bottom line is, they just haven't gotten anything in return that warrants them trading him away. We have no clue what our asking price is and if there is even one or not.

In the video, Caplan says that the Vikings want a first round pick and a starting player in any potential trade for Peterson. More specifically, Caplan says that the Vikings want a starting cornerback as part of any compensation they would receive for Peterson. According to Caplan, the Vikings have identified their top need as a cornerback and want to fill that spot in any deal of this nature.

Get their 2016 first, and a player. We aren't getting a ring this year. Does the deal they wanted before this draft change? It shouldn't. We can get a first, and likely a player. Move this guy. The position isn't worth the investment in cap space, specially when you can clear over ten million a year, and get at least a first in return.

Again, they redid their cap to make EXACTLY enough room to be able to get Adrian's contract. Do you think that was a coincidence? And after the draft, he comes out with those comments, you don't think it's a possible he goes to Dallas? They didn't fight the NFL when they wanted him out. Despite sponsors jumping ship. Peterson isn't that bright. His agent isn't that bright. What do you expect? Look at what's happened with his agent this offseason. Look at Peterson's comments throughout. Make a deal and move him. He isn't winning a super bowl here. The team isn't ready. Get what you can and use the money to address some more significant positions in upcoming seasons.
