He's earned our trust for a while. I hope we get something good at the Lion's pick here. I like the pickup of a high 5th round guy. Let's just hope most of the picks make the team. Probably not finding any starters from this point as rookies.

Recap: #Vikings have picked up 143rd, 193rd picks for moving back 12 spots in third round to 88.

Nice way of looking at it.
maybe....but not if the 5th and the 6th don't make the roster.
we'll see.

Paul Dawson still on the board

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

Unless the desire for ten picks is going to force us down again...

If Rick is just going on Walterfootball.com, it looks like we'll be drafting Sammie Coates. He was mocked to us in the second, and now is still available late third.

I think the whole idea behind Spielman's philosophy is that some players aren't going to make the roster but by accumulating 9 or 10 picks a year, his odds of finding good players increase because he's either drafting more or he has the leverage to move around and get some of the specific players he wants. Honestly, I don't even think it's desirable to have all of the team's picks make the roster every year. If that's continually happening year after year after year, it's an indication that the team is experiencing too much turnover and players aren't sticking.

I love to see tight ends and QB's come off the board. Not planning to draft them.

I agree, but for a different reason. I like for them to pick some high risk, high reward type of players late. If everyone is making the team, we aren't taking enough risky players in the late rounds.
