Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
I think if you asked every adult in the nation, behind closed doors, if they felt that rare, controlled corporate punishment, ie opened hand spanking without a weapon, was rarely but sometime useful, they would agree. When I was a kid, and got caught stealing, bullying, lying, the fear of getting my backside tanned really DID work.
The problem is that there are a lot of morons out there who have managed to procreate but have no common sense or self-control. Over doing it and using full strength adult rage, using weapons, of using corporal punishment for EVERY little offense is damaging and, sadly, not rare.
Reproduction is TOO easy, and Parenting is very hard. I have found parenting to be far more humbling then any other part of my life.

Oh well, it would be nice if my office was on Miami beach. But it isn't. Now get to work like all the rest of us, AP.

exactly! I REALLY hope he has been training like a monster all this time. It would suck if he was unmotivated and came back soft and pudgy. Actually, its hard to visualize a version of AP that is NOT all cut like a greek god....
Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
No fear there, according to a few articles and his teammates he's still super jacked. In fact that's probably all he's been able to do to keep his mind straight is work out.chicagopurple wrote:exactly! I REALLY hope he has been training like a monster all this time. I hope that Gurley is still on the board at 11 and we decide to trade AD to just about anyone for their first. We then snag, say, Kendricks or a CB late in the first.
The fact that he's saying these things publicly now just doesn't sit well with me:

Teddy deserves to have a solid run game without all of the tension, drama, and BS that I fear AD is going to bring if he stays with us.
Dallas would be my least favorite of the options, but if we do it, I hope we fleece them good.

I agree. This would be an ideal situation, however I wonder whether Spielman would do this without the guarantee that someone would be interested in a late 1st round pick for Peterson.Texas Vike wrote:I hope that Gurley is still on the board at 11 and we decide to trade AD to just about anyone for their first. Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
I just have to believe that if a trade was agreed upon that we would have heard about it by now. Right? And why keep it a secret? If you agree to it, can't they report it?

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
I'm fairly certain AD remains a Viking at this point. Any trade probably would have happened by now.
Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
If a trade happens it will be after a RB needy team isn't able to get a prospect they want in the draft. That's the last chance at this point.
Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
It's not really a new development for him to make a comment like that publicly. He's said for years that he would like to play in his home state, for the Cowboys, someday.Texas Vike wrote:I hope that Gurley is still on the board at 11 and we decide to trade AD to just about anyone for their first. Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
No way would it be spoken of before the draft.
If everyone knew that we traded AD, then a team wanting Gurley or Gordon would probably try to jump us in the draft to get Gurley or Gordon, thinking that we are taking one of them.
I would hope that we take Parker and then as the draft goes on, we are still able to draft Gordon or Gurley when that trade spot comes up.
Imagine Teddy with a WR corps of Wallace, Johnson, and Parker, plus a RB in either Gurley or Gordon and McKinnon!
Niiiice. Very talented and young group that will grow together.
Hopefully that veteran line allows these young studs to develop and excel.
Missing is Patterson, but I could see him traded away also.
Probably not a fit for Norv's offense.

@evansilva Schefter said he wants to see the "first round come & go" before ruling out Adrian Peterson trade. Thinks door isn't shut on potential deal.

I wouldn't completely shut it until mid-way through the second round, since I can still imagine teams putting together a package of enough picks at that point to tempt Spielman.

Here it comes:
If CC is just speculating then why is he prefacing it by saying he's under a gag order?Judd Zulgad's Hoodie @JZHoodie · 3h 3 hours ago
So @criscarter80 just threw this out there just now: "I am under gag order with AP situation but I believe something will happen today."

I am trying to upload the video of Cris Carter talking about AP as soon as possible but it sure sounds like AP is gone.

I don't think AP trade goes down until Gurley is drafted. I can't see Vikings taking Gurley.

A couple smart people this a.m. believe Kevin Warren is Carter's source. Would Kevin know this sec. a trade is coming? I'm dubious.
