ESPN's Mark Dominik -- a former NFL GM with the Buccaneers -- believes Adrian Peterson's trade value is a first-round pick and two second-rounders.
Dominik acknowledges no team would likely be willing to give up that much for Peterson, who turned 30 last month and is owed $13 million in salary and bonuses. Nevertheless, it's interesting that such compensation would even be thrown around. Former Browns GM Phil Savage suggested that a second-round pick would be "a more reasonable haul" for a team trading for Peterson.

Indeed. Curious. If you're in the "AD will be in Purple next year" camp it's a good sign and he must be meeting with coaches & management to continue to mend fences. I think the recent spate of quiet indicates a deal has been worked out in principle pending AD's reinstatement. I'll be happy if the Vikings can swing a deal similar to what they managed with Harvin, but if Spielman can manage the above I'll be very impressed. While its unlikely someone will offer that kind of compensation, I've learned to never underestimate desperation. I was listening to Cardinals talk radio the other day and those announcers were basically saying the Cardinals' window appears really small. The Cards have the defense but lack the offense, and even Larry Fitzgerald is apparently getting in on the action in support of a move for AD. Throw possible interest by the Cowboys on top of that and maybe another team and who knows? There might just be enough interest to drive up the price to where it makes sense for the Vikings too.Pondering Her Percy wrote:
