Rice was awesome in 09, but even he wasn't Moss. Not even close to the same wheels.

Indeed....it's been a rough patch.
Williamson
Berryman
Rice
Simpson
maybe one or two more?
Coupled with the cast of castaways we had to throw them the rock?.....it's been grim.

I like how Teddy has already been in touch with him. It's also good to hear one of the best receivers in the NFL, Antonio Brown, telling Wallace good things about Teddy since they train together.

Nice to hear he respects Moss. I am still in shock Rick did this. Maybe he just wants to see what he has for a year. But thats a lot of money. I'd say we have about as much speed with our WR's as any team in the NFL. Now if they can run routes, and catch the ball, our offense should be ok.

Actually until today on this board I've read and heard nothing but good things about him as a QB on the uptick.
Yeah Tannehill gets a bad rap, and I Honestly don't know where it comes from.

Even down here Dolphins fans have been especially brutal since he started. And I think a lot of it has to Do with the general Dolphins fan still in the "Yeah well, He's not Marino" mindset. Mixed with the mess that is the coaching with that team the last few years. I dunno, I've always thought it was weird. If I was any team in need of a QB I'd take Tannehill in a minute.

Williamson!

Oh man, Lol I've never been so disappointed with a Viking. Not upset, or frustrated or even mad or agitated just straight up DISSAPOINTED.

Another thing about that guy was his amazing footwork in the back of the endzone after catching a pass. His ability to get both feet down at full throttle was really something.

I can empathize with Wallace bringing up Moss memories though, just because he is a legit deep threat which we haven't really had save for 09 Rice.

I'll be super stoked if the kid can consistantly stretch the field and Teddy can find him when he's open. It will do so much for this offense.
Absolutely, and he learned that from Cris Carter. Carter was THE master at 2 things specifically, getting that other foot down even just a toe. And knowing exactly how and when to get an interference call on any defender.

But Moss, holy crap dude was magical.

I agree but I think Demitrius Underwood was a close second :(

THis could be a great move. He has the speed that we need. B Marshall is slowing down. Marshall is a TALL guy that can jump for high passes but he cant get down field against fast cover anymore. The only down side to this new guy is a history of attitude (Marshal with his mental illness had plenty of that also). I think its time that Coach Z shows us that he can handle modern players and turn this guy into a dangerous receiver who produces and lets Teddy show us if he can actually throw the deep ball. Many things will be proven by this trade.

From what I saw in the Minnesota game, Tannehill is real solid. One of my best friends is a Dolphins fan, so I paid attention to them more than I probably would have, but everything I saw made me think that Miami would be in great hands moving forward. The most compelling part about Tannehill is his progress and development. His production has steadily increased every single year and even the small things on the field he's gotten better at, slowly but surely. I think that's one of the more concrete signs for quarterbacks that you have your guy. Same can be said for Teddy except his progress was pretty rapid. He got a lot better real quickly. Last year's Vikings/Dolphins game may have foreshadowed two of the better teams of the future and dare I say, a possible SB matchup?

I'm getting too far ahead of myself now. I'll pump the brakes.

Tannehill is a good QB but he doesn't have a good deep ball. Just look at all the plays left on the field here:

Wallace had a step or a few steps on nearly every one of those plays but Tannehill couldn't hit him in stride.

The Breeze wrote:If the guy is all about money and stats he's wrong for this team IMO. I want guys who's passion is connected to winning football games...period.

All that remains to be seen with Wallace.

Which Diva WR had the biggest game in the SB?
When was the last time a WR was MVP or carried his team to the Lombardi......was it never? Probably.

It's important to have a guy or two who can stretch the field, especially in Norv's scheme...duh, but that doesn't mean you can't get it done with a good solid team guy and quite possibly on a rookie contract.

I have some doubts about Wallace and it's going to take several games before I believe he's a good fit no matter his stats.
...................

I'm most likely wrong here But, (I could suit up and go Googling But I'm kinda lazy today)

Wasn't Hines Ward a pretty huge carrier of the Steelers super bowl run in like 2009 or 2008 or somewhere around there?

Yep. I saw it too. Living down here all I get are Dolphins or NY games. And I HATE everything anywhere anytime about NY so I'm stuck watching Dolphins. Unless I decide to drive a good 40mins to the Vikings bar. But I was constantly impressed with Tannehill for exactly those reasons plus/minus a couple others. But people down here just have these crazy blinders and I've never understood.
