Are the Vikings really planning on paying Chad Greenway $7M this year and carrying his $8.8M cap hit? If they were going to move on seems like something would have been done by now. Vikings have a history of treating long-term players well by releasing them early if they can't get a restructuring done so the player can max out in FA (as opposed to dragging things on and letting them hit the market after all the big money has dried up).

I was surprised when we paid Jared Allen the $14.3M that was due in his final year in 2013 (and his $18M cap charge). Perhaps we plan on doing the same with Greenway. It's a substantial over-payment versus his market value.

They're not done yet. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't figure something out with his contract or outright cut him (give him the 'ol Winfield). He did take a $1 million pay cut last year. That was reported on March 15.

Seeing the name Sugarman, if you haven't seen the movie Searching for Sugar Man, i highly recommend it. Pretty amazing story.

@DarrenWolfson Finally confirmed, per source: #Vikings were IN on safety Rahim Moore. Had to go higher than Houston. Moore wanted Texans. They wouldn't.

Didn't we release Winfield on the same day FA began?

We're 4 days into FA now. The first phase of Shupid money in FA is over as evidenced by the one year deals signed by Harvin, Fairley and Pot Roast.

Yes, almost immediately. They cut Winfield and extended Loadholt's contract right as free agency began that year.

Is Spielman on vacation this week or what?????? I mean don't spend stupid money but for gosh sakes sign someone at a position of need. This is utterly ridiculous. And we wonder why we have no depth at any positions. :nono: :nono: Right now i would be happy to hear we signed a new waterboy or a new hotdog vendor.

Yeah let's hope that they just sign someone anyone just because

Agreed. There are still plenty of good players out there. However, I truly believe all this silence by the Vikings is saying there is something in the works. Whether it be AP or Patterson. Something is going on. I also believe they will sign Michael Johnson as well
