I can't say I'm a fan of the move but we'll see what they do in the draft. If they bring in a quality young QB for the 3rd spot, I'll feel somewhat better about it. I would have much preferred Locker or another, younger QB (perhaps McCoy) who still has upside. It's hard to imagine Hill has anything more to offer down the road than what he's shown so far but for now, he should be an adequate backup and he can provide a veteran "sounding board" for Bridgewater.

Dammit, Jim, is Pat Devlin just invisible to you? Or do you like your men younger than 27?

@GoesslingESPN: #Vikings have agreed to terms with Shaun Hill, according to a league source.

Except apparently Locker is retiring.

Pat's just not a "discerning man".

I'm actually a skosh hesitant about having a legit young guy in here until Teddy has proven himself more one way or the other.
I like having the vet to help his development.....but I'm all about developing one guy at a time there.
Not sure who Devlin is....but I'm not in favor of carrying 3 guys right now.

As in "shy and retiring"?

Seriously, he's retiring? Wow, that's news to me.

@DarrenWolfson 2-year deal for Shaun Hill. Can earn up to $7M, per source. #vikings

I know. Per @MikeGarafolo

He's been dealing with some injuries. I wonder if they (and the grind) got to him. Maybe baseball? I thought he was also a baseball player. Dunno.

@GoesslingESPN Hill's deal is for $6.5 million over the next two years, with $500,000 in annual incentives.

I thought the better play would be Jason Campbell. At least he has been on the field. Shaun Hill? Has he at all? I do not recall. Not even sure if the Bengals have resigned Campbell but that would have been my play. Shaun Hill, good grief.
