ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent G/T Orlando Franklin's deal with the Chargers is for five years and $36.5 million with $20 million guaranteed.
Franklin is expected to play left guard for the Chargers opposite impressive right guard D.J. Fluker. But he's also capable of playing tackle, something that certainly raised his value on the open market. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter

EDIT: Clint Boling anyone? He's probably the last guy I'd feel comfortable with in free agency to be a potential upgrade as a starting LG. Otherwise Scherf is looking better every day with the gaping hole next to Kalil.
I'd be fine with it if the Vikes went bowling... er, went for Boling.

There's nothing to the Kaep rumor. He's not going anywhere.
Twitter is abuzz with news Willis will retire.
Dang, just saw that. The "report" i read was about Justin Smith retiring and that not being the player leaving. Then they mentioned about Kaep and Willis, so player parting ways with is Willis via retirement. My bad. Just went to look at original tweet and it has been deleted.

From what I've read the 49ers might be losing Smith and Willis to retirement. Nothing confirmed yet, though.
Just saw this:
@RapSheet #49ers LB Patrick Willis is planning to retire tomorrow, sources confirm (as @ProFootbaIITaIk & @Rand_Getlin said). Huge leadership loss

Free agent market is drying up relatively fast and a lot of it is due to players resigning with their respective teams. I figured we would see more lateral movement this year in free agency. I was wrong.

It's hardly ridiculous my friend, it's pure analytics. Loeffler is near the bottom of Mel McShay's long snapper rankings due solely to the downward trend of the spin on his punt snap. He's only averaging 7 RPS (revolutions per snap) while the league average is 12. Quite frankly, he's embarrassing himself out there.
...? Apparently Sheldon from BigBangTheory is a Vikings fan on the board,...who knew?
LOL! I know What it is, analytically and statistically. I just figured that my mentioned of how it was interesting to me and my "awe" of it would have easily and generally showed my understanding and interest in it.
Yet I am still able to laugh at the pure insanity and again ridiculousness of the fact that someone is able to figure these things out through #'s.

@christomasson I'm told Vikings are making a strong push for free-agent guard Clint Boling. He played the past 4 years for Cincinnati, 3 with Zimmer there.
