Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
This tweet sums up exactly how I feel. I hope we don't give him more money just to keep him around@Kevin_VFP: He's under contract. you don't restructure or offer a penny more for the selfish, self centered, not-taking-responsibility person he is.

Mark my words, if the Vikings trade (or release) him, they will rue the day. Especially this season. It will be a disaster.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
I don't understand your logic behind that. It was partially a disaster with him under contract this past year. It's not hard to find a good RB in the draft, especially this class. Plus we get picks for AP AND save $13 million. So how will this season be a disaster. It's better for the future of the franchise IMOPurpleMustReign wrote:Mark my words, if the Vikings trade (or release) him, they will rue the day. Especially this season. It will be a disaster.

I will take my chance with a proven RB than a Draft Pick anytime. I get what you are saying, but he is a special talent.Pondering Her Percy wrote: I don't understand your logic behind that. Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
With all the money RBs have been getting this week the offer we get for AP should only go up. Hopefully Murray breaks the bank as well.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
we should get two picks for him, but i don't expect them to be all that high. either way, does it really matter that much? we won 7 games without him last year. adrian peterson's behavior has been that of "i'm bigger than the team." so, at this point i couldn't care less what happens with him. he runs hard, so if he comes back great, but if not who really cares at this point.

Well there is going to be a time where we have to let him go and go that route anyways and now is the time to do it when his value is as good as it ever will be from here on outPurpleMustReign wrote: I will take my chance with a proven RB than a Draft Pick anytime. I think he is still a HOF talent...but he is also world class jerk off the
field.
McKinnon is great., the only thing with him might be his durabilty,
due to size.,, time will tell.

PHP, I know eventually AD and the Vikes will need to part ways, but I just don't think that time is now. A year off to condition his body and make him angry just screams "beast year" to me... It just doesn't seem like the right time... I could be wrong. And hopefully whatever happens will be for the best, but count me as one who doesn't want to see AD in another team's jersey.

All depends on what they could get for him.PurpleMustReign wrote:PHP, I know eventually AD and the Vikes will need to part ways, but I just don't think that time is now. I guess if Spielman can get a package like what he got for Percy...fiestavike wrote: All depends on what they could get for him.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
I don't quite understand all this, it seems fairly simple to me.
We get a good offer on AP, we trade him.
We don't, we don't trade him.
Even after all this AP isn't demanding a trade. He has seemed to grasp the business side of this fairly well with his understanding that he would need to restructure. I have to think that Rick would be able to spin a lowball offer for AP as an insult to AP and deflect most of the damage. Then all we need is a couple of wins to start the season and I think bygones would be bygones.
Of course imo any offer that includes a first round pick for AP should be taken at this point. Best for both.

I agree with you in general, but I think it will be a singular "beast year" and then his value will begin diminishing quickly. I'm not sure that we could win the Super Bowl even if he has a career year, so if we can get a first rounder and save some cap space and push hard for the future, I would be okay with it.PurpleMustReign wrote:PHP, I know eventually AD and the Vikes will need to part ways, but I just don't think that time is now. Which, by the way, isn't to say I'm not okay with rolling the dice on this year. I'm pretty amicable towards either scenario. If we add Iupati this would likely be the best line Peterson has ever had and close to the best overall team.
