Nice to see Joey Iosefa (UofHawaii) get some tv time. 30 reps which was the highest of all RBs.

Re: 2015 NFL Combine Thread
Not so much with his first attempt. I would not draft Cobb on his speed anyways. He is a tough runner from what I saw, really the only time was vs. the Buckeyes, he was impressive to me gaining tough yards and breaking many tackles. He stood out as a bowling ball type.frosted wrote: Can't argue with that take!
Btw, RBs are about to work out and run 40s. Not sure how I feel yet about drafting one (at least not early) but it's always fun to watch these guys run.
Hope David Cobb does it big!

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter
Re: 2015 NFL Combine Thread
Yeah he's not very fast, but he's obviously not a 4.81 guy - he pulled up lame with a quad, but limped though the finish. I think he'd be closer to 4.65. He was very good with the Gophers. Strong kid.CbusVikesFan wrote: Not so much with his first attempt. I would not draft Cobb on his speed anyways. Gordon ran a 4.52 - I thought he would be faster than that. Still solid though.

They showed Zimmer and Norv watching guys working out. Zim had a dip in and spitter in hand. Very focused.

Re: 2015 NFL Combine Thread
Just some observation notes from my perspective from today:
- This class of wide receivers is deep - just like last year. I have a feeling we will be drafting at least one WR.
- Kevin White will be the consensus number one receiver when it is all said and done - which means we might have a better shot at Amari Cooper.
- That being said, Kevin White seems to have bust over all him. I haven't been high on him since the beginning.
- Devante Parker didn't have a strong showing during the gauntlet drill - he jogged it. Still, Parker was solid today otherwise.
- Right now, Parker and Cooper are too close to call for me personally, but I think I will give the initial edge to Cooper.
- Devin Smith, Nelson Aghor, and Philip Dorset would be intriguing prospects to add to our offense should we target another position in round one.
- I wouldn't mind us selecting a QB in the later rounds to develop as a back up. I noticed that Scott Turner (at least it appeared to be Scott) on the field today working with the QB prospects.
- Winston wasn't impressive in the measurables, but man, he looked solid throwing the ball today. He is going to be the first overall pick - baring something catastrophic .
- The running backs were disappointing to me today. I know many of them are bigger backs, but only one RB who wasn't a full-time player managed to run under a 4.5 forty.
- I think David Johnson and David Cobb are potential later round targets to look into as far as RB is concerned.
- On that note, poor David Cobb. I felt for him. Too bad he had to injure his medial thigh today.

I agree about White. I'm not a fan of him at all. It's Cooper or Parker for meHardcoreVikesFan wrote:Just some observation notes from my perspective from today:

Let's make that 3 of us.Pondering Her Percy wrote: I agree about White. I'm not a fan of him at all. It's Cooper or Parker for me
I have only watched a couple full games of WVU, but he's never stood out to me. In fact, I clearly remember when they played TCU; he matched up against CB Kevin White (how odd, right?) and he was shut down the whole day. Cooper can get open. Everyone on the field knew Bama was going to him and he'd still get open and catch the ball. I need to watch more on Parker.

Parker was the same way. I mean against a very good Florida St. defense he had 8 for 214Texas Vike wrote: Let's make that 3 of us.

If that's how you guys feel about White, what makes you think he'll be the consensus #1 receiver?

His measurables and the numbers he put up at the combine. I don't necessarily think he'll be the first WR off the board but he was already considered to go in the first round but what he showed at the combine helped his cause for sure.Mothman wrote:If that's how you guys feel about White, what makes you think he'll be the consensus #1 receiver?

Kevin White is tough one for me - he's a talent for sure - I don't know what to think of him yet. More film needs to be consumed.

Man oh man, one thing i must say, it was painful listening to Parker talk. He does mention multiple times how he has been meeting with the Vikings though

Scherff's Presser: http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/vide ... fc651c587d
The first mock I did this year, I had us taking Scherff. Even though its not the "sexy pick", I would be very happy to draft him in the first. He's drawing comparisons to Zack Martin of the Cowboys and scouts are saying he could play anywhere on the offensive line. I really like this kid. Sounds very intelligent, he's an outstanding athlete and gives us great versatility along the offensive line.
