I remember hearing the Vikes were trying to trade up for JFB during the draft last year, but I recall another tweet saying the Vikes were trying to move up to take Teddy. I wonder if word of the Browns QB study came out and Rick had an inkling of Cleveland taking Bridgewater and was actually moving up for him? I am pretty sure we will never know for sure. The fact that Norv and the Vikings spent so much time with Teddy and the story of Norv pounding the table to take Teddy leads me to believe he was our man all along. In any case, it sure worked out in our favor.

Well Coach Zimmer says we tried to trade up for Teddy a few times in the draft.

Did you worry about not getting Teddy at No. 32 last year in draft?

"Well, we were trying to move up to get him. We were trying to make a trade to get him. There were a couple of other times we tried to get up to get to where we could get him. But it just happened to work that way with the 32nd pick. We would have kept trying. We would have kept trying if it was 40, it wouldn't have mattered although we did have the 40th pick.''

I read a few pages and it seemed like the responses ran the gamut from positive to negative. I'm also not a real big fan of necro bumping threads to poke fun of responses. I'm sure at one point or another everyone who has made some significant contribution to this board has said some stuff they regret later or turned out to be very wrong, myself included.

No doubt about that, if you say more than two things definitively about football, odds are you screwed one of them (at least) up royally. I know I've been wrong more than I'd like to remember - I wasn't trying to poke fun at any single person, just pointing out how much the narrative can change, and maybe provide a reminder that all the things that get so much media coverage can be flat out wrong. So I guess what I'm saying is we should all R-E-L-A-X, no matter what happens this offseason. But, to each his own, maybe you should lock this then, sorry about it.
