The way that I see this is that if the Cowboys make a deep play-off run or actually win the SB then they will stand pat and resign both Murray and Bryant. If they lose early to the packers then I could easily see Jones throwing up his hands, not resigning Murray (who will command BIG dollars) and bringing in the pride of Texas, AD, into the fold. If it means giving up a 1st (which will be a very late round pick anyway) then absolutely he would pull that trigger.Mercy Percy wrote:Do you really honest to god think Jerry Jones would give up a 1st round pick when he has arguably one of the best RB's in the league on his roster... come on the guys not an idiot.
What do you think AD would garner in a trade?

AP would get about a 5th rounder but teams will wait for his release.

this
No one is going to put up the big numbers or trade picks that AD's contract and baggage will bring. We would have had a much better chance before this year, and the idea was laughed at by 99% of the people on this board.

He hasn't played in a year, is due 15 million, and then trade a high draft pick. When you know he may be released.Purple bruise wrote: If you do not mind I will take some of whatever you are smokingWe are talking about one of the top 10 players in the NFL. 5th round pick
Tell me what you think we'd get? If you say 3rd or higher, I will have to

Start laughing because it will be at least a high 2nd or late first. Or pehaps a trade for a very good player. We can argue back and forth but let's just wait and see who is right.

At a position of questionable value. In the final year of his contract. Making that much money. At his age.
He'll whine his way out, like he's already been trying to do for years. And Spielman will get whatever he can for him, and be named a genius for it.

And no matter what actually happens, certain posters here will claim that it was the worst possible outcome and that this team is mismanaged... if only THEY could be the GM!Demi wrote:At a position of questionable value. In the final year of his contract. Making that much money. At his age.

I say they trade him for a unicorn that farts rainbows--that would be nearly impossible to tackle and it would cheer up some folks that need it!

If I'm not mistaken, all unicorns fart rainbows. They eat skittles and fart rainbows. I spent a few months as a unicorn tender is western Canada for the Queen of Alderberan.Texas Vike wrote: And no matter what actually happens, certain posters here will claim that it was the worst possible outcome and that this team is mismanaged... if only THEY could be the GM!

Ah, your qualifications are superior to mine, then. I'll defer to you on the matter. It should be easier to acquire such a unicorn if they all produce said flatulence... This means we are one step closer to achieving this blockbuster trade! The Breeze wrote: If I'm not mistaken, all unicorns fart rainbows. They eat skittles and fart rainbows. Re: What do you think AD would garner in a trade?
Ive come around to the idea, unless it is a really favorable trade, AD should stay put, whether he wants to go or not. Teddy must be drooling over the idea of handing the ball off to AD, and it saves us from going after the big picks of Gurely or Gordon (although what a replacement Gordon would be!) and lets us pick the big name WR.
Re: What do you think AD would garner in a trade?
If it does work out that AD plays for the vikings next year, I still think that it would be a good move to draft either of those backs. Who is to say how long AD will play and the rookie can learn from AD.PurpleKoolaid wrote:Ive come around to the idea, unless it is a really favorable trade, AD should stay put, whether he wants to go or not. The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps.
