Simple. Let Tate beat up the defense for 3 quarters then put McKinnon in.

I am really hoping Tate can use this opportunity as Jarad Allen did, and be a stud, for us.

Browns and Texans have had some interesting choices over the years, for sure

To be honest, I think Tate definitely can. We know he has the ability. It could have simply been that he wasn't in the right scheme in Cleveland and they had promising rookies behind him. It would be interesting to see. However, even if he does nothing, it's not a huge loss.

Really nice stiff arm, he knocks a few players down in these highlights ...

Still not sure why he's not getting more snaps, him or Banyard.

Asiata with 2.8 ypc this week.

I agree. When he came in he had a couple decent runs. Asiata is the most non-elusive RB I have ever seen. He makes Toby Gerhart look like Darren Sproles. Tate needs to get carries

Couldn't agree more

I think it has to do with blocking, at least from what the coaches were saying in press conferences last week. But it's painful watching Asiata run the ball, we need the quickness that Tate brings, at least a more healthy mixture of both backs would be a step in the right direction

Never thought I would see the day when the Vikings are actually struggling at the RB position

It's not even just that Asiata is slow. It seems like he lacks vision. He basically just runs straight until he falls down every time he touches the ball.

Agreed. Asiata was just brutal to watch. I admire his work effort, but, the fact that he continues to get touches just baffles me. Banyard and Tate showed explosion and have more upside running the ball.

I don't know why Tate was not used more he seemed much more effective than Asiata.

Banyard also looked better

Banyard looked really good a few weeks ago. I think it's probably just the trust factor with Asiata that keeps him in the game for most snaps. Probably his blocking ability as well. I never really paid attention to it before though.

Unless they already plan on him to be playing next season, seems like a foolish pickup. Not going to learn much from him sitting on the sidelines. And the fact Asiata is still our #1 rusher, doesn't bode well for Tate. Ive seen enough of Asiata.

They picked him up because he was low risk, high reward. You don't just throw him in there because fans are tired of seeing a certain player. You think Tate bodes well for their developing rookie quarterback if Tate is still learning blocking assignments and blitz pickups in Norvs offense? It's more than just ypc that go into a decision like this.
