It's a waste of a pick at this point. We just spent an early pick on a promising QB. Just watched a segment on NFL.com with Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah both saying he is a lesser version of Colin Kaepernick....no thanks. We have to fill our holes right now. QB is not one of them. I would bet my current salary that the vikings won't draft Mariota.....yes that's how confident I am.

Honestly, what is the point?? Teddy is playing completely fine and we have other issues to address. Why would we consider QB at this point?? To create yet more media distraction to this team??? It's an unnecessary pick no matter what way you look at it.

I'm still completely baffled that we are actually discussing drafting Mariota after we just drafted Teddy Bridgewater this past year....

Kaepenick has/is already showing signs of regressing. I would take Mariota over him anyday. We can argue this until we are blue in the face so I will just say, "watch and see"!

Just so you won't be baffled, what do the Vikings have to fall back on if Teddy does not live up to your high expectations, Cassell :wallbang:
If Ricky could swing a deal and somehow draft him then I would be delighted. Yes I know that the Vikes drafted their franchise QB with the 32nd pick and there is absolutely no need or room to draft anyone such as Mariota. I do not agree at all.

That does nothing but create another QB controversy. Teddy will be on a short leash which creates more media attention. Cassel is probably one of the "better" backup QBs in this league. That's not a bad fall back at all. Nobody has a good fall back option. They're backups for a reason. Mariota is an absolute waste of an early pick. You get your prime talent that fill holes early in the draft. QB is not a hole and Mariota is not a prime talent IMO but someone desperate like the Jets will take him. There is plenty of other ways to solve your "fall back" option rather than through the 1-2 round of the draft

Yep, that is your opinion. I think Cassell is no solution at all and I think Mariota will be a star in this league.

Vikings: Teddy Bridgewater has strong advocate in Norv Turner
http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_270 ... orv-turner

I know the perception is Teddy was better this week than he was against Green Bay and Chicago," Turner said Thursday. "I thought he has been good the last five weeks, and I thought he played better (against) Green Bay than Carolina.
People see Teddy in the Green Bay game miss a couple throws early and automatically there's something about accuracy," Turner said. "The two throws he missed I've seen him make 100 times in practice. The throw he made to Jarius on the deep ball -- it was a revelation.
And my favorite quote of Norv Turner:
He can do all the things he needs to do to be an outstanding quarterback in this league," Turner said. "Like most young guys, there's going to be some ups and downs, but his lows have not been as low as a lot of young guys I've been around -- and he continues to get better.

Haters are going to hate no matter....

What team currently has a "solution" as a backup??? We don't need another 1-2 round QB sitting behind one we just drafted. If he's going to be a star or not, that's not our priority right now. Teddy is just starting to get comfortable. Why draft someone to breath down his neck when you want him to be confident and learn this offense. Like I said, I'm not sure why we are even discussion this because I can just about guarantee we won't draft him. It's a waste of a pick that doesn't full a hole.

As hard as you are trying to prove your point (I get where you are coming from) but do not happen to agree. So I guess I am entitled to my opinion, right? I think Mariota will have a stellar NFL career. I am hopeful about TB but certainly not willing to watch another QB struggle for the next several years. I HOPE THAT HE PROVES ME WRONG.
That being said, I and several others who think that he is spectacular with his accuracy, mobility and size, believe that he will have a great NFL career and I would love to see my favorite team have him.

There's one thing we can all agree on when it comes to Teddy.

He definitely went to college at Louisville :vi1:
