Slavery was accepted at one time too. Women couldn't vote. Whats your point? Do you think that matters to his kid? All I want from AD is memories of games past. Same with Ray Rice for knocking his gf's the #### out. I hope the kids mom, and Rice's gf get some civil cases going.Pondering Her Percy wrote: As mentioned before, this is how Adrian was treated as well along with many other NFL players. However, Adrian was dumb enough to think that in today's world it was still acceptable. I truly believe he never wanted to physically hurt his child.

Re: Peterson plea deal...
He went overboard....we get it. But if he gets the deal done, chances are he will come back. Im guessing any team would eventually allow a player of his caliber to come back. I don't think it has anything to do with the WilfsPurpleKoolaid wrote:

Edited because I was being a sarcastic jerk. The gist of my point was simply that the marijuana accusation was flimsy at best and being promoted by people who had tons of bias. Then the report about AD's charity was shoddy reporting that was potentially written by a journalist who was looking for a hot story with a prolific antagonist. The charity article has also refuted by another article and basically hasn't had any ground ever since. Even the way the original photographs got released is sketchy and potentially illegal.Boon wrote:
What weed smoking? If he did in fact smoke weed he would be in jail right now. Unless you know something the courts don't. Not trying to be a smartypants, I'm just sick and tired of the court of public opinion convicting people of stuff that hasn't even happened yet. This is getting out of hand
None of this is to take away from the main matter at hand - the negligent injury to his child. But we (public opinion) should not be making judgments on other (unrelated) stories that have way more questions than they have answers.
We'll hopefully know more about everything soon (potentially tomorrow). Then we can only hope that the Wilfs don't make any decisions based on public opinion alone and, instead, rely on professionals who are educated with all the facts.

According to Adrian, the NFL is modern-day slavery.PurpleKoolaid wrote:Slavery was accepted at one time too.

Don't start with the whole right or wrong thing again. If you have different views, save it. It's not like we're breaking him out of jail cell and giving him Mckinnons jersey to try and sneak him on the field to play.

who actually thought with his status, money, and basically "dream team" of attorneys that this was really going to set his career back? i didn't. whether he plays for us or not, he'll be playing and it could be much sooner than later. kobe bryant was accused of rape, big ben was accused THREE times of rape and both are practically worshiped. regardless of what happened, and those photos were sickening, with the media and social media thrown in today people are guilty before innocent. those pictures were meant for a judge and a jury, not the arm chair public attempting to make legal decisions, or pretending to know what a jury might decide. even the child's mother came to his defense.

I love how this is the way we get news nowadays, I also picked him up in a league btw.GQVikesFan wrote:NFL_DRAFT_Bites @NFLDraftBites · 16h 16 hours ago
Fantasy note, Adam Schefter picked up Adrian Peterson in his fantasy league. Schefty has a few close contacts in AP's Camp
This space available for rent.
Re: Peterson plea deal...
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS We need Adrian now more than ever. We still have a shot at getting at least 10 wins and could use Adrian for GB and the last 3 games. Let the man play, I just want to see AP back on the field in a vikings uniform at least one more time. Forgive and forget
I also picked him up in my fantasy team last night. Glad to hear Schefter did the same.

Peterson Will Plead No Contest

With fewer than four weeks until the start of his trial on felony child-abuse charges, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will reach an agreement today to resolve the case.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Peterson will plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor reckless assault. The plea will not include reference to family violence or violence against a minor.
If the agreement is accepted by Judge Kelly Case, Peterson will pay a $2,000 fine, be placed on probation, and perform 80 hours of community service. Technically, the adjudication of the case will be deferred for two years.
The next question becomes whether the NFL will impose a suspension on Peterson above and beyond the eight games he already has missed with pay. Although Peterson agreed to the existing arrangement, the paid suspension helped the league and the team avoid a major P.R. mess. Unless he would be suspended more than eight games for the incident, he should be reinstated for Minnesota’s next game against the Bears.
Re: Peterson plea deal...
So it sounds like it's up to the Vikings whether or not he'll play. If he somehow got suspended more than eight games he'll obviously be appealing, so I would think he'd be able to play no matter what happens.

Can't wait to see this guy run angry the 2nd half of the season, reach 1,000 yards and carry Minnesota back into the playoffs.

Re: Peterson plea deal...
I don't think so at all. He could make a gigantic difference on this offense. Plus getting Rudolph back. It's takes so much pressure off of guys like Teddy and Patterson and even our offensive linePacificNorseWest wrote:Can't wait to see this guy run angry the 2nd half of the season, reach 1,000 yards and carry Minnesota back into the playoffs.

I didn't put it together until just now but, I think it's a lock Peterson will see action against Chicago. Insiders are adding him to fantasy teams.... And the big one that just hit me. The NFL just a few days ago flexed the Vikings/Bears game to CBS. Think there's something in the works much? There's gotta be something going on here.
