Honestly, though, the regular NFL Sunday Ticket (not Sunday Ticket Max) isn't that expensive. It's a worthy investment in my mind (although I was not feeling like I got my money's worth with the Vikings last year. Ouch!).Just Me wrote: I'm a little farther west than you Moth, but that's why I keep getting Sunday Ticket (Hate the $$$ though). For the Vikings to be broadcast, it's got to not conflict with a Bears or a Packers game.

Agree with all this, but I only like it for the nostalgic reasons. Other than that, I agree with HVF. Their broadcasters are horrible in comparison to CBS.maybe it's just because I have grown up watching Vikes games on FOX since I was a boy, but there's something nostalgic about it for me, when I hear the 'Fox Sunday NFL Theme' music. Makes me think of Thanksgiving, football, and family.

I have some friends with an almost irrational hatred for the Fox robot:) I typically like the playcalling from Fox a little better but maybe it has some nostalgia for me as well.PacificNorseWest wrote: Agree with all this, but I only like it for the nostalgic reasons. The thing I really dislike about Fox is the panel of guys before and at halftime. They actually haven't been as bad it seems in recent years and they've had some more analysis but they used to all just laugh the entire time at nothing in particular. It just seemed like this really phony display that they were trying to act like a bunch of buddies just joking around and watching the game. It actually made me laugh that it was so bad that someone did an analysis of the time spent laughing.

I dislike that robot too. Wish they'd go back to the classic presentation.

I'm not a big fan of the additions of Strahan and Riggle but, I always thought the dynamic between the fox guys was much better than the "professional broadcaster" approach from a bunch of former players and coaches who would never been mistaken for professional broadcasters. I pretty much can't stand more than 3 minutes of the CBS pregame before it becomes too awkward and I change to another channel.MikethePurple wrote: I have some friends with an almost irrational hatred for the Fox robot:) I typically like the playcalling from Fox a little better but maybe it has some nostalgia for me as well.

I just like JB. I tend to watch CBS now just because of him.

I agree that a looser format is much better than players trying to be straight up broadcasters. The whole "just one of the guys" and "we're all really buddies" act seems to be pretty calculated and hammed up for the cameras. Its not a huge deal and really something you'd expect from tv. Gives me a chance to get other things done before something more interesting, hopefully;), like the Vikes game is on!

I don't pay too much attention to the pregame, but I will always hate Joe Buck.
Re: This Week's Enemy Fan Forums: The Detroit Lions
Yeah - I agree. I guess if it was "too expensive" I wouldn't be buying it. (No one's got a gun to my head or anythingJ. Good link. This part cracked me up:
The Journal (or is it the Wall?) determined that laughter took up 142 seconds of the FOX show, roughly 11.6% of the time that the five hosts on the show were seen together.
Terry Bradshaw led the way, laughing for over 92 seconds all by himself.

Well, IMO, FOX has the worst broadcasters. FOX has the worst HD by far (not even close). FOX also seems to favor certain teams while disregarding others.Mothman wrote: I'm curious: why do you feel that way? Is it just because you loathe Fox?
CBS has superior HD and better announcers. Sometimes I wish we were an AFC team just so we can be on CBS. Heck, I would rather watch a game on NFLN over FOX if I had the choice.
Just one man's opinion here. I guess I should be grateful though. FOX allowed me to never miss Minnesota growing up in South Dakota. My four years in Iowa City has taught me just how hard it is to follow a team if you are not in the local market of your favorite team.

I like the Sunday/Thursday night crew the best though.

Re: This Week's Enemy Fan Forums: The Detroit Lions
Another displaced Vikes fan here, but there is NO WAY ON EARTH I would EVER live in MN again. We have 2 choices here: Sunday Ticket or nothing. Except for the one year that Ticket was out of their minds (like $350 for the season) and we told them to eff off that year, we've watched. I was really glad I didn't spend that kind of money on a sucky season too.
Back in the day, we could get feeds of the games on big dish, and that was pretty cool. Long gone, though!
My favorite announcer is Collinsworth, he's pretty straightforward and doesn't seem to have too much slant in his announcing. I am SO GLAD Madden is gone, I had always wanted to mute him.
Now for the game: YAY - TEDDY will be in!!! I'm really curious to see how our O-line will stand with a good defense when we won't see 8 in the box. Doesn't hurt my feelings we won't see Johnson or Bush, we do need all the help we can get!
