@SiriusXMNFL #Vikings Mike Zimmer: We will see how Bridgewater is doing tomorrow...it's a long season so we don't want to put him at risk

I think there might be some gamesmanship going on from the Vikings. I guess practice was closed for the media today, so people aren't real sure if teddy took reps today.

I think so. "@DiMurphyMN: @MasterStrib @SiriusXMNFL Is your gut instinct that he plays, though?

Teddy Bridgewater limited in today's walkthrough, listed as questionable for #Vikings-#Packers tomorrow. Didn't practice past 2 days.

He needs to be out there. X-ray was good, MRI was good, he should be good. They have an extra 3 days after to get ready for the Lions. Tough it out now and heal later. This could be a pivotal game.

usually i just write as a vikefan, but on this topic, I get to put in my 2 cents as an MD.....a nl xray give you NO indicator of severity of injury with soft tissue injuries, ie strains. The Teams never give you real data from MRI. so there is no way to know how severe the strain/sprain is. some soft tissue injuries take longer to heal then simple fractures. Hopefully it was really a minor strain but given his initial reaction, i doubt it. Putting a strained ligament to full use in 3 days could take you from a strain to a TEAR. Then you have ended a season. I really hope the team docs are allowed to do whats best for the kid and preserve his well being. Then we both win. He gets a good long career and we get to see him back for the majority of the season.

NOW, as a fan.....I was in bliss watching Teddy go to town! How the hell does a 21yr old kid act so calm and PRO starting in the NFL?!? WOW. I found it amazing that the last time a rookie started at QB for the Vikes was back when Fran the Man did it...when I was a kid!!! Our OL did a pretty good job protecting him and even run blocking.kudos....The D-Line left a lot to be desired. WAY too many run yards given up. I expected out secondary to give up big yards against the Falcons since that what Atlanta exploits..but the run game? we were way to generous on D.

Like ChicgoPurple said, an MRI doesn't show the severity of soft tissue damage. Putting him out there too soon could result in Teddy being sidelined the rest of the year, and I don't think anyone wants that even if it is a pivotal game (look what happened to RGIII in the playoffs a couple years ago). Hopefully they will only let Teddy play if he is ready physically.

Ponder started games as a rookie.

questionable is ahead of doubtful, but if there is any real doubt sit him out. the last time ponder played at lambeau (that game was on a monday night) didn't we lose 38-0? or, something like that. if ponder starts its a guaranteed loss, but i'd rather have teddy for the rest of the season.

Yeah you are correct, Ponder lost that game all by him self. He was playing defense, special teams and even cheerleader
He did manage, with help from his teamates, beat the Packers on his home field, of course he had nothing to do with that win.

The loss you're referring to happened all the way back in 2011! The last time Ponder started at Lambeau was last year and the Vikings had built a 16 point lead in the 4th quarter. Their defense collapsed, allowed GB to force overtime and the game ended in a tie. However, Ponder played a good game and even threw a beautiful long pass to Patterson in the 4th quarter that could have helped seal the win if completed. Unfortunately, Patterson couldn't make the catch.

Ponder's QB rating in his last trip to Lambeau was well over 100. This game is not a guaranteed loss if he starts. This is a winnable game, with or without Bridgewater. It's only a guaranteed loss if the Vikings don't play well as a team and especially if they don't stop the Packers offense.

I am fine with Ponder starting BUT only if they put a blindfold on Teddy so he doesnt pick up any bad habits.......

This was for yesterday. I believe BW was limited in practice today. My feeling is they are going to sit him and not take any chances. The defense will need to step up big tomorrow.

So far, so good. Let's see if he can keep it up. Don't expect it to stay that high. But in this top 10 would be nice.

 Andy Dalton 8.6
