Re: Site Banner
Carter and Moss was my vote. Moss will be in the HOF one day, so I guess that technically makes him a Vikings HOF too.

A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

I'm all for current players. Not sense in being reminded of the Vikings past. It's all about the here and now and that's the way it should be.
Patterson, Smith and Teddy. Can't leave out Teddy.

Re: Site Banner
You know, I suggested the HOFers, but I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a better idea to start with 'oldschool players and the left (HOFs for sure) but then add several others culminating with our current 'stars' on the right. Sort of a 'running history', if you will. Or even the old met - the metrodome - TCF (it will still be part of our history) with the new stadium on the right.

From the looks of it I think it's going in that direction.Raggamont wrote:I know I rarely post (English being my second languaje doesn't make it easier) but I think the banner should have the fans, I don't support putting a player because, as I read somewhere, we currently root for laundry and the only thing that remains are the fans, so why not the images of people going to the stadium or tailgating or somthing like that?
If you don't like that, how about a cool photoshop montage of Paul Krause, Joey Browner and Harrison Smith?

Re: Site Banner
I voted for the players of now, just because I am hopeful that Smith and Patterson will become great faces for this franchise. I already think Smith is heading towards a Pro Bowl year, and he seems so straight headed.
Obviously the safe bet would be HOF'ers, but it is time for the Vikings to work towards being known as a great team, not a team with a great running back.. and I think Smith and Patterson are two great examples of the future.

Re: Site Banner
I mentioned the idea of having a mix of old and new but didn't seem like a popular idea. However i much like the idea of a timeline from left to right with maybe a memorable player from each half a decade? so 1960-65 pick a player 65-70 pick a player, or maybe just one each decade? I see lots of possibility to expand on this idea.Just Me wrote:You know, I suggested the HOFers, but I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a better idea to start with 'oldschool players and the left (HOFs for sure) but then add several others culminating with our current 'stars' on the right. I chose HOF, but I like this idea too.

Re: Site Banner
Is it possible to make a banner on the other skins too?

Re: Site Banner
Well, as of today the HOF members are winning by a large margin. I think Mothman can begin on the banner if he wants (or if we need to find somebody else, that's fine), but it would be awesome if we could have it up by Thursday's game. I could do it myself as well (I made my signature, for reference) but I also know I'm not the best and I would be using Gimp to make it.
For consideration: Smith/Patterson got second place, and a lot of people wanted current players, too. Maybe do both (one on each side)? It's all up to you, man!

I say Fran, Jerry, and C.C. on one side. Teddy, Zimmer and C.P. on the other

I'm swamped this week so if you have time to take a crack at designing a banner before Thursday, please do so!
