Bad situation, I legitimately feel sorry for Massel. If Teddy plays well this could very likely be Massel's last chance to start, ever.

I feel bad for Cassel as well. He was inconsistent as a QB, but he was a good leader, and a nice guy. I fear Teddy might end up getting hurt too, both because of Kalil/Johnson, but also because he hadn't bulked up as much as I would have liked to see. And when you run into players like the Saints have, injury around the feet and ankles is a huge concern.

There's that High-Low tackling technique the Saints love to use on opposing QB's. :steamed:

I feel really bad for Cassel. I do have to say, that both he and Teddy Bridgewater seem to encompass a lot of what is right with football. Matt has been a total class act and Teddy was right on the mark with his postgame comments about his fellow QB.

While I never hoped to see Ponder again in purple, I believe it would folly to throw Teddy in like this. He needs some more time to learn and grow. Let Ponder deal with the next games against very tough opponents while having no real Running Game, and a spotty OL. Ponder has already learned how to panic and throw errant passes. There is no reason to mess up the guy that is supposed to be our future. Its not like we are going anywhere this year........a little later in the season we can let Teddy take on some weaker opponents.

Teddy is as cool as the other side of the pillow. I don't think he will flap or panic or be ruined.

That was absolutely not a penalty. I hated seeing Cassel get hurt but the saints did not break any rules on that play.

I don't think it was a penalty, either... but it may have been a dirty "ankle-twister" tackle by #50. I think the Saints play to injure the QB.

Dare I mention a  :nono: "bounty" on Cassel. How low can a team sink :(

putting in Ponder would be a vote of no confidence to Teddy and do him far more harm than good I think.

We drafted Teddy in the 1st round to be our qb eventually the process has just sped up.. so let the kid play. Was more than impressed how he handled coming in on Sunday now excited for his first start v the falcons

GO TEDDY

Yeah, a little ironic that our QB gets injured by a two-player tackle with no penalty flag while the Saints QB doesn't get injured from a two-player tackle and gets a penalty flag.

Our QB also walked off the field without retaliating while theirs... well you get it.

Cassel broke bones in his left foot, so it wasn't the result of a 'dirty ankle-twister' since #50 had hold of his right foot.

Now if that tackle had occurred in the pocket, then it would have been a penalty (for going low on a qb). But since Cassel was out of the pocket and scrambling, then he is treated like any other runner and is fair game so no penalty.

“Those dang headsets, I don’t know,” Zimmer said. “That was not the first time. Out of three weeks, we’ve had two issues. So we need to get that fixed.”

“I don’t think it’s the headsets, per se,” he said. “This is twice in visiting stadiums that this has happened.”
Whats interesting about that, the NFL and the NFL only is in charge of all communications after like 11 AM EST on gameday.
